Silly Goose Birthday Party
Hello crafty friends! It’s Rachel Alvarado from RachelAlvaradoDesigns.com. I have a few cards to share with you showcasing some fun and beautiful new stamp sets illustrated by Simon Hurley.
For my first card, I created a slimline card measuring at 3.5” x 8.5” featuring the Silly Goose Stamp Set. I made my card one-layer by masking my images as I stamped. In order to do this, I first created a rough draft of where I wanted to place my images and then used my MISTI to align my images on my final draft as I stamped. I started with the images that appeared in the front of my card first, masked them, and then stamped the images behind them next. I used Copic Markers to color my images.
Copic Colors Used: (Teals: G000, G00, BG23, W3; Pinks: RV02, RV04, RV55, RV66; Purples: BV000, BV01, BV13, BV17; Geese: 0, W00, W1, W3)
For my background, I blended a mix of Wilted Violet and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Inks while my images were still masked. For some added texture, I then added some spatters of diluted Winsor & Newton Permanent White Gouache.
For my second card, I created a standard A2-sized card (4.25” x 5.5”) using one of the geese from the Silly Goose Stamp Set. I first stamped my image onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and once again used Copic Markers to color them. Once finished, I used the coordinating Silly Goose Die Set to cut them out.
For my background, I lightly blended some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. To create the texture in my card base, I used the gorgeous Fluted Classics Rectangles Etched Dies. To give my card some dimension, I also used some 3D foam adhesive squares to adhere my images.
For my next card, I used the new Birthday Party Stamp Set. I also used the same Fluted Classics Rectangles Etched Dies for my card base as I had in the card above. To create my design, I first stamped my cake image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored part of it with Copic Markers (YR21, YR23, E33, E35). I then used some Pinkfresh Studio Espresso Ink to stamp the color of my icing.
For my final card, I used the Birthday Party Stamp Set once more to add some gifts and balloons to my card front. This time, I didn’t do any coloring but used ink to fill the colors in. This method is both fun and super easy!
Inks used: (Pinks: Pinkfresh Studio Sparkling Rose & Bubblegum; Teals: Pinkfresh Studio Turquoise & Paradise; Purples: Pinkfresh Studio Wisteria & Hydrangea).
I hope you enjoyed all my cards today! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!
Rachel
