Cardmaking,  Die Cutting

It’s Raining Pugs and Cats

Hi everyone, Ilina Crouse here, and I am thrilled to be on the Spellbinders blog.

I love dogs, also cats, but dogs are my favorite, but when it comes to crafting I love them both equally and the new Bibi’s Cats and Pugs just hits right. I love the large-sized pug, card and bicycle and they are perfect for making shaped cards. Also, the dies that create smaller pugs and cats are also amazing and perfect to add one, or more to a card.

There are so many amazing products in the Bibi’s Pugs and Cats collection so, I had to use all of the products to create my projects today.

To make the shaped cards die cut the base twice from heavy-weight cardstock. One of them you will use to layer the rest of the die cuts, and the second one you will score on top at about ½” and adhere it on the back to create top folding-shaped cards, or on the side (like for the bike).

Cat Shaped Card

I love creating shaped cards and they are also so easy. Once you create the base for the card, die cut the rest of the elements to adhere them all to assemble the cat and all the accessories you would like to use, I used a bandana, bow, and a collar from the Cats and Pugs Accessories Etched dies and Big Cat Etched Dies set.

Once the shaped card is assembled. Stamp sentiment from the Cats and Pugs Sentiments and cut into a strip and adhere to the card using foam tape. Add a few rhinestones to finish off the card.

Pug Shaped Card

In a similar manner as the cat-shaped card, I created the pug one, too. Use different colors of cardstock and colors of accessories and the Cats and Pugs Accessories Etched dies and Big Pug Etched Dies set.. Once you have assembled it, stamp sentiment from the Cats and Pugs sentiments and die cut it using the banner die from the Cheerful Kittens Etched die set.

Bicycle Shaped Card

Same as the above cards, I made another shaped card, but this time using the Big Bicycle Etched dies, and added a cat from the Cheerful Kittens Etched dies and accented it with flowers from the Mini Blooms Etched die set.

Hang in There Card

The next two cards I am sharing today  are standard A2 size ( 4 ¼” x 5 ½”).

For this one I used the Cheerful Kittens Etched die set along with a sentiment from the Cats and Pugs sentiments clear set and added flowers from the Mini Blooms Etched Die set.

To make the card start by die-cutting all the parts for the cat and the flowers and assemble them. Die cut also a label from white cardstock using the Mirrored Arch Labels Etched Dies.

Stamp sentiment on black cardstock and emboss in white, die cut using the banner die.

Assemble all the elements and add a few enamel dots to finish off the card.

Last, but not least I am sharing a card using the Party Puggles Etched Die set along with Cats and Pugs Sentiments clear set and some patterned paper from my stash.

To make the card create an off-centered angled panel 4” wide. Stamp sentiments parallel to the edge.

Die-cut all the elements for the pug and assemble it. Assemble the card and add some black enamel dots to finish it and add some more interest.
