3 Quick and Simple BetterPress Projects, 3 Quick and Simple Ways
Hello crafty friends! It is Laurie Willison here. Today I have a few quick and simple cards using the gorgeous, BetterPress Copperplate Holiday Sentiments. My favorite type of card showcases a good amount of white space. I love images we create with, become the star of the show, and pop right off of our cards. I am brand new to the BetterPress line and I have to say that I am SO impressed with the beautiful results. The sentiments in the Copperplate Holiday line are perfect for quick and simple cards or if you like more detail, they are great for that too.
Today I want to show you 3 basic cards and then how to change them up adding just a little bit of detail each time. The 3 main cards are very easy to mass produce, perfect for the holiday season. The cotton cardstock from Spellbinders, along with the impressed images of the plates, gives the cards a very elegant feel with just one sentiment and a little color.
The first version of this quick and simple card was so very easy to create. I used various inks on the sentiment plates and ran them through BetterPress using the cotton cardstock. I could absolutely stop here and leave the elegant sentiment to shine on its own. But I thought it would be fun to share another added detail….still keeping it clean and simple!
To the main cards, I added a scored frame around the face of the card up to the edges of the sentiment. Using the Copperplate Gift Tag Set, I impressed the little holly image with black ink and colored them in with alcohol markers. I attached them to the card with a foam square for some dimension. I could absolutely leave them alone because this second step still leaves them quick and simple but lets add one more bit of detail!
To elevate the look of the simple card, I took masking tape to the scored frame, just at the top right of each card, and added some light ink blending in of the same ink used for each sentiment. Another super simple touch to give another layer of detail.
Here are a few ways you could add more detail to these cards:
- Mask off the framed area and stamp a light background image inside the frame.
- Impress the sentiments on a smaller panel and add to a stamped background.
- Center the sentiments on the card front and add stamped images around the edges.
Keeping it simple is my favorite and works great for mass-producing those Holiday cards. I hope you have enjoyed today’s projects or at least have some inspiration to create a version of your own quick and simple cards! Thanks for joining me today and I hope you have a great day!
