Cardmaking,  Die Cutting,  Embossing

Sparking Birthday Bash Cards

Hello Crafty Friends, Heejung Hunsberger here! I’m thrilled to be returning as a guest designer for Spellbinders this month. If you’d like to get to know me better, you can visit my blog or follow me on Instagram. Additionally, I have a YouTube channel where I regularly post video tutorials.

Today, I’m sharing three birthday cards featuring the Birthday Bash Collection by Simon Hurley, using black and metallic card stock.

Happy Birthday To You Cards

I gold foiled on the black card stock with the Birthday Bash BetterPress Plate.

I colored a few images with acrylic markers.

I hot-foiled the “Happy Birthday to You” BetterPress Plate with Rainbow Foil on white card stock and die-cut the sentiment with a circle die.

I finished up with Peridot, Peach Blush, and Capri Blue color essentials gems on the card.

Mylar Balloons Party Card

Sparking Birthday Bash Cards, S4-1349

I used the Plaster 3D embossing folder on black card stock to create the background. Then, I cut out the Mylar Balloons dies from the Rose Gold, Gold, and Silver assorted Pack Treasured Card Stocks, which are new releases in July. Each color pack contains 5 card stock styles (Glitter Metallic, Matte Metallic, Brushed Metallic, Mirror Metallic, Pearl Metallic) with 3 sheets of each style per pack.

I used the glitter metallic for each balloon’s base and the mirror metallic style for the balloon’s top.

I matte gold foiled on black card stock with the Birthday Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plates, die-cut it with coordinating die.

I finished up with the gold smooth discs on the card.

Party Balloons Card

I stenciled the Party Balloon Stencil with a blending brush. Then, I embossed the stenciled paper by aligning the stencil shape with the embossing folder design.

Color the edge of the balloon with a marker to create a three-dimensional effect.

I used the white Jelly Pen to highlight the balloons. Then, I matte gold-foiled the sentiment from the Birthday Sentiment Glimmer Hot Foil Plate on black card stock.

I finished up with Gold Smooth Discs on the card.
