Simon Hurley Sketched Christmas Cards
Hello crafty friends! It’s Rachel Alvarado from RachelAlvaradoDesigns.com. I am happy to be back on the Spellbinders Blog today sharing some cards that feature products from the beautiful new Simon Hurley Sketched Christmas Collection.
My first project showcases the new Sketched Santas Stamp Set. To start, I stamped my images onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then used Copic Markers to color them and the coordinating die set to cut them out.
Copic Colors Used:
- Reds: R14, R46, R59, R89
- Black: W7, W9
- White: 0, C00, C1, C3
- Blues: B02, BG34, B36
I then created my card background by layering some colored card stock. For my red layering piece, I used one of the dies from the Nested Postage Labels & Tag Etched Dies. I next added a panel of smooth white card stock where I had blended some Uncharted Mariner, Peacock Feathers, and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks. To give the impression of snow, I also added some spatters of diluted Copic Opaque White Paint.
My second card features the Sketched Christmas Clear Stamps Set. I once again stamped my images as I had done in my card above and then colored them with Copic Markers. I then used the coordinating Sketched Christmas Die Set to cut them out.
Copic Colors Used:
- Reds: R14, R46, R59, R89
- Greens: G40, G43, G46, G99
- White: 0, C00, C1, C3
- Browns: E31, E23, E25, E29
For my background, I blended a small area in the center of my card with some Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide Ink.
My final card features some adorable snowmen from the new Sketched Snowman Clear Stamp Set. After stamping my images, I once again colored them with Copic Markers and used the coordinating Sketched Snowman Die Set to cut them out.
Copic Colors Used:
- Reds: R14, R46, R59, R89
- Teals: G00, G000, BG34, BG49
- White: 0, C00, C1, C3
I once again added some ink blending to my background with a mix of Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks. I added some light spatters to my background as I had done in the first card and then stamped my sentiment with black ink once the spatters were dry. Lastly, I adhered my images with 3D foam adhesive tape for more dimension.
I hope you enjoyed my cards today and check out this beautiful collection! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. 🩷
Rachel
