Bring Your Most Magical Memories to Life With Storytelling!
Hello Crafters! Celes Gonzalo, also known as GuiadeManualidades, is here to share new ideas with you. First time on the blog—so excited! Today, I invite you to bring those magical memories to life with the beautiful Storytelling collection. We’re going to use many of the die sets in creative and fun ways. Plus, we’ll add some extra elements to make these two ideas truly wonderful. Are you ready to start creating? Let’s go!
BORN TO EXPLORE LAYOUT
This first project is dedicated to Sebas, my husband. He loves traveling, walking, taking photos and living fun and unique experiences every chance he gets. When I saw some of the sets in this collection, I thought of him, and I knew exactly which photo I wanted for this project.
- Die cut the camera from Say Cheese Etched dies and the boots from Wander Boots
- Die cut the dog tag from Badges of Honor
- Cut out a basic camera shape so you can place the photo inside.
- Die cut flowers and leafs from Be Bold Blooms Etched dies and Mini Blooms and Sprigs
- Die cut the word Wander Etched die and phrase from the Wander Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set (previously stamped with the plate and your BetterPress).
- Prepare your base paper for the layout. Use one colored paper and one white paper. Also, add an A4 sheet of colored paper as the centerpiece for your composition.
- Apply a watercolor background using Splatter White Opaque Watercolor.
- Cut your photo and a circle to frame it using glitter paper.
- Glue the background camera, the framed photo, and start the composition with all your die-cut pieces.
- Add some white dots from the Dimensional Black & White Enamel Dots.
Tip: Remember to layer everything and use 3D foam.
Tip: I used vellum as the background for the main word.
Tip: I added the year of the photo to the dog tag. I also threaded the chain through the camera strap to give it a more realistic look.
Tip: The colors of paper I used are: Gold Glitter, Portobello, Partly Cloudy, Raindrop, Beeswax, Fern, Persimmon, Saffron, Light Yellow and Light Pink from Meadow Collection, Dahlia and Matte Metallic Gold from Gold Assortment Treasured
MAGIC MEMORIES LAYOUT
For the second one, inspired by several of the sets in the collection, I decided to use photos from a very special day for me—one of my trips to the magical world of Disney. So, I thought about combining it with the beautiful Embroidery Hoop Frames from Spellbinders.
- Die cut the fairy from Dancin’ Fairy Twinkle Etched dies, the carriage from Fairy Tale Carriage Etched dies, and the castle from Castle Tales Etched Dies.
- Die cut the dog tag from Badges of Honor
- Print your photos in sizes that match the three sizes from the Embroidery Hoop Frames and glue them on the back.
- Prepare your base paper for the layout. Use one colored paper and one white paper.
- Apply a gold watercolor background using Yasutomo Reddish Gold Japanese Watercolor.
- Die cut the word Magic Etched Dies and phrase from the Magic Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set (previously stamped with the plate and your BetterPress).
- Glue the embroidery hoops and start the composition with all your die-cut pieces.
Tip: Remember to layer everything and use 3D foam.
Tip: I made confetti with colored papers and glitter.
Tip: I made a tassel with glitter paper and thread (Vivant – Finn Gold Metallic Cord).
Tip: The colors of paper I used are: Gold Glitter, Partly Cloudy, Raindrop, Beeswax, Saffron, Pink Sand, Dahlia, Watermelon Pink from Meadow Collection, and Matte Metallic Gold from Gold Assortment Treasured
