Vintage Postal Christmas Cards
Hi everyone! So happy to welcome you to a new post here on the Spellbinders blog. I’m Pam Sparks, cardmaker, blogger and instagram creator. Today I’m sharing three cards I made with the new Simon Hurley Christmas Collection.
My first card uses images from the Sketched Santas and Sketched Christmas stamp and die sets.
I had fun stamping and coloring on kraft color cardstock with color pencils. I kept it pretty simple…inking, some die cutting and layering for A2 size cards.
My second card I had the idea to go ‘postal’ and make a faux postcard design using the Sketched Snowmen stamp and die sets.
I stamped and heat-embossed two of the sentiments from the set and one of the smaller snowflakes for the faux postage stamp.
I die-cut the kraft panel with the largest Nested Postage Labels and Tag die and the faux postage with the smallest dies in the set.
I randomly stamped some of the snowflakes from the stamp set directly on the postage die-cut panel in white pigment ink. A little white color pencil scribbled on to ground the snowman.
My third and last card I used images from the Sketched Christmas set. It was hard to decide what images to use because there are so many fantastic images in these sets!
I stamped, colored and die cut a panel using the Labels 8 die set. The pine branches, ornament, and candy cane are from the Sketched Santas stamp and die set.
I LOVE how all three of these sets work together perfectly! So many combinations and ideas for a variety of darling cards!
I hope you enjoyed my old-fashioned looking Christmas cards. They were fun to make. Be sure to check out what the other Spellbinders card designers have made with these sets also!
