Hello crafty friends and welcome to Day 6 of the 12 Days of Stitchmas Advent Calendar! I’m Mindy Eggen and have the most adorable projects to share with you.

In Day 6 we have a little penguin that can be dressed up with a hat or earmuffs along with some snowflakes for scene building. I’m using all of it in my projects today.
I started by die cutting my pieces using the following colors of cardstock from Spellbinders
- Black
- Snowdrift
- Tangerine
- Poppy Field
The stitching for the penguin is going to be on his belly and I’ll be using the metallic gold thread. I give a few tips on getting a nice, clean look with the thread so be sure to check that out in the video for Day 6.
The stitching went so quick that I created three more penguins with the hat that I turned into a Santa hat and then another penguin but with matching earmuffs.
Three of these penguins will go on a card front. I am creating that with Raindrop cardstock.
I first stamp the sentiment at the top using Black ink and then build my scene around it. I die-cut multiples of the snowflakes and layered them around my group of penguins. The penguins in the back will be attached with liquid glue and my center penguin is added with foam squares.
My next project is creating a tag which I did using the Essential Arches die set. I ink-blended around the top edge using two different shades of Blue ink and a large blending brush.
Using my penguin as a guide, I stamped my sentiment in Black ink, attached the penguin and then punched a hole at the top for my yarn/ribbon.
Both projects took no time at all to create! I think this die from Day 6 is great for beginners but also very enjoyable for advanced stitchers.
Hope you are enjoying the 12 Days of Stitchmas and this has sparked your creativity!
