Day 10 of the Stitchmas Advent Calendar includes three dies: a Christmas ornament shape, the stitching die for that shape, and a die to cut out the ornament cap.

While traditional holiday colors are always fun, I decided to go for some of the fun, bright colors of cardstock included in the Stitchmas kit. Waterfall, Pink Sand and Teal Topaz are a festive combination! I cut the plain base and another with the stitching elements out of each color. I love that the kit includes floss that coordinates perfectly with the cardstock! I separated the floss into a 3 strand pieces and stitched with the similar color for each ornament.

It was such a breeze to stitch these ornaments. There is three small areas for stitching and each area includes large simple stitches that it took no time at all to complete all three ornaments!

I die-cut the ornament caps from the Silver cardstock and adhered them to the ornaments. You could definitely stop there because they look so pretty with just the addition of the stitches, but I decided to add a few of the Oyster Pearls here and there for a really ornate look!

On a horizontal A2 piece of Snowdrift cardstock from the kit, I stamped two of the sentiments in black ink. Then I used some Spellbinders Foam Squares to pop up the ornaments.

If you want an even quicker card, try the vertical A2 orientation! One ornament fits beautifully. I die cut the ornament from the Dahlia cardstock. This time I decided to use 2 strands of the coordinating floss and I added some of the DMC gold thread to those two strands! It’s a subtle, but nice touch! Again, I die-cut the ornament cap from Silver and adhered it to the ornament with liquid glue.

I decided to add a lot of texture to the background with the Argyle Plaid 3D embossing folder. Once it was cut down to 4×5.25” I matted it onto the Raindrop cardstock. I used the Nested Postage Labels and Tag Dies to cut out a stamped sentiment and layered it on the next largest size of those dies die cut on gold cardstock. I made a loop to “hang” the ornament from with the gold thread. With the large hole cut out of the ornament cap, you could make some special stitched tags for presents with this set! There are so many different ways to use today’s Stitchmas dies! You could even create an ornament banner!!

I hope you enjoyed seeing today’s Stitchmas dies and a few ideas on how to use them!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I like the designs of these cards, but it would make them feel more like Christmas cards if
they had different colors. These are too springy looking to me. When I look at them it makes me
think ” cute card, but this person must have run out of other colors and that would be more Christmas
like and so just used what they had”…
Yes, i know ornaments are different colors… but generally feel more like Christmas than spring.
Just my thoughts, I’m sure there are others out there with pastel trees so would not think this unusual,
but sometimes some traditions are worth keeping. 🙂
