Adding Dimension to your Fall Projects

Hi Spellbinders fans. Alanna Moses from EmbellishCraftLove.com and I am very excited to be guesting on the Spellbinders blog today. Today, I am working with the Falling Leaves collection. This collection has a press plate with coordinating stencil, a 3D embossing folder, and three wax seals. All of these products are so beautiful and pair perfectly together.

For my first card, I started by taking the Autumn Rain BetterPress and Stencil Bundle and used my BetterPress machine to ink up the press plate. I used the Opal Blush Shimmer Interference Ink Pad from Lisa Horton Crafts.  I then used the coordinating stencils to color the umbrellas and leaves. I trimmed this out using one of the dies from the Mirrored Arch Labels die set.

I used my Platinum 6 machine and embossed some white cardstock using the Oak Forest 3D embossing folder. I trimmed the panel down and then blended on some light brown ink over top of it. I added this to a kraft A2 notecard. I then added in a sentiment from the Always and Forever Sentiment Strips Press Plate and die set. I pressed it using the Betterpress black ink pad onto Porcelain Cotton Cardstock. I used the coordinating die to cut it out and then added some light brown ink over top. I added foam tape to the back and added it to the embossed background.

For my second card, I started by embossing the Oak Forest 3D embossing folder. I added kraft card stock that had been die cut using the Nestabilities Labels Eight die set inside the embossing folder but before I ran it through my Platinum 6 machine, I added brown ink to the debossed side of the embossing folder. I repeated this process two more times to deepen the brown-inked background. I love that this left the acorns and leaves un-inked. I used the Mini Blending Brushes and added in some green, red, and orange inks into the leaves.

I decided my panel needed a bit of splatter, so I added some brown shimmer spray and some brown paint. I then added my sentiment which is from the Handwritten Sentiments die set. I finished off the card by adding in some coordinating gems in a visual triangle.

For my third and final card, I focused on the Acorn Trio 3D Wax Seal. I used the Autumn Mix wax beads and created 3 wax seals. I love the pre-made wax bead mixes that Spellbinders has. It makes it so easy to create beautiful and one-of-a-kind wax seals. After my seals were made, I added the DecoColor Premium Gold Metallic Marker to the raised areas. This helps bring the image to the foreground.

I then used the Oak Forest 3D embossing folder and embossed it with some of the Gold Assortment Treasured Cardstock. I took my brayer and the Milk Chocolate Roses Shimmer Interference ink pad and added ink just to the raised areas. I matted it onto some Crimson cardstock and added it to a kraft A2 notecard. I added my seals and then added the sentiment which is from the same set I used on my first card.
