Making Extras with the Beads of Friendship Collection

Hello! Jen Kotas is here today with three cards featuring the Beads of Friendship Collection. This collection has tiny press plate or stamped letters to create lots of friendship bracelets to use with or without the die-cut hands. There are also die-cut shapes and bracelets.

For these cards I created multiples of everything except the hands and stamped sentiments and letters. I have a lot leftover that I can pull out for future use with other components of this collection or I could even pair them up with the new Shine Bright Collection.

I began by impressing the Bestie Alphabet Beads Press Plate and Die Set letters in a rainbow of BetterPress ink colors on Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panels. I used Strawberry, Tiger, Peridot, Leaf, Teal Topaz and Wild Berry. That’s six sets with multiple duplicate letters in each set.

I also cut the shaped beads from Besties Beaded Bracelet Etched Dies out of the colors in the Happy Day Cardstock Pack. I cut the Bestie Heart in Hand and Heart Hands Etched Dies from Dune Cardstock. It’s a good skin tone starting point. From there you can add ink to get the color you want.

I impressed the Bestie Sentiments Press Plate and Die Set with Black and Teal Topaz BetterPress Ink on Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panels. Just like everything else, I’ve got plenty of leftovers for future cards.

For the slimline card I embossed the Flowers and Foliage 3D Embossing Folder on the teal cardstock then finished card with the Aquamarine AB Color Essentials Gems. I also inked the background with a dark teal ink.

The Heart Hands card uses the Flower Frenzy 3D Embossing Folder and Berry Color Essentials Gems. I inked the edges with a deep pink ink.

The final card is so fun! I cut the several bracelets from the Bestie Beaded Bracelets Etched Dies from Onyx Cardstock then adhered them at an angle to an A2 card panel. Adhering them this way is more forgiving when it comes to straight lines. I laid out all of the remaining letters and shapes and started filling the bracelets up.

I tried a few different sentiments but opted for a small one with three black layers behind it plus one offset black layer.

I still have a lot of leftovers for future cards using some or all of these elements. I pack them away in the corresponding die/plate packaging.
