Cardmaking,  Die Cutting,  Embossing

Three Sweet Birthday Cake Cards

Heejung Hunsberger here! I’m thrilled to be returning as a guest designer for Spellbinders this month again! If you’d like to get to know me better, visit my blog or follow me on Instagram. Additionally, I have a YouTube channel where I regularly post video tutorials. I created three birthday cards featuring the Bougie Birthday Collection, using glitter paper and brushed card stock.

Macaron Chocolate Cover Cake Card

First, I embossed the Born to Sparkle 3D Embossing Folder from the Bougie Birthday Collection onto the rose gold brushed cardstock.

To create the cake, I die-cut the Timber and Latte colored cardstock with the Ganache Gâteau Die.

I die-cut the bottom of the cake base to about 1 inch high to fit the card.

I die-cut the macarons with the Ganache Gateau die in pastel tons card stock.

Spellbinder has an outstanding color mix card stock like the Assorted color card stock to create colorful macarons.

To create the cake topper, I die-cut the “Birthday Wishes” word from the Birthday Cheers die on silver glitter and black cardstock, making it double-layered.

Birthday Card in Pastel Tones

I cut the black glitter card stock into 5 x 7 inches for the background.

I also die-cut the cake on Teal Topaz and white card stock.

I colored cream drops with gray markers to give more shade.

To create the Marcaron, I used pink, violet, and orange colors.

I used the Simply Perfect Mix & Match Sentiments Die for the birthday message. I also made the double layers.

The size of the sentiments fits the cake.

To create the pom pom bunting cake topper with the same color theme as the macarons.

And I used a white Gel pen on the Sentiment.

Colorful Balloons Birthday Card

I embossed the Cascading Streamers on Teal Topaz cardstock to create the background, and I die-cut the cake base, cutting the bottom part to make it smaller.

I embossed the cake piece with the Plaster 3D embossing Folder from the Birthday Bash Collection.

I die-cut the balloons from the Birthday Bliss die set, which is a small die club from November 2024.

Each balloon is attached to the topper stick, and the height is adjusted with scissors.

I die-cut the Classy Numbers die on silver glitter paper and also added candle lights on top of the numbers.

I die-cut the confetti on the silver glitter card stock with the Treat Yourself Gift Card holder die set.

I had so much fun making these three cards. The size of the card is 5 x 7 inches.

You can coordinate with other collections to fit any theme party. Thank you for reading my post. I hope this post inspires you.

Happy crafting!

XOXO, Heejung
