Alcohol Marker Colored Images using Simon Hurley Stamps and Dies
Hello! Jen Kotas here today with three cards featuring Simon Hurley Stamps and Coordinating Dies. There’s so much to love about these products. The woodland animals are precious and there’s so many images in that set. The wreaths are gorgeous and the little artist critters are adorable.
I’m most comfortable using alcohol markers but there are so many other mediums you could use. Tag me with the one you choose to color these images with.
- Emboss a piece of cream cardstock with the Bark 3D Embossing Folder. Drag brown ink pad across panel just catching the embossed areas. Cut to 4 x 5 1/4” and adhere to card base.
- Stamp the wreath and butterfly from Everyday Wreaths Stamp Set with black ink and color with alcohol markers. Cut out with coordinating dies.
- Die-cut sentiment from Woodland Tales Sentiments Etched Dies out of Brushed Gold cardstock. Cut twice more from brown cardstock. Adhere together.
- Add wreath and butterflies then adhere sentiment only where wreath overlaps.
- Stamp elephant from Inspired Clear Stamp Set. Color with alcohol markers and cut out with coordinating dies.
- Stamp large paint swatches using a rainbow of shimmer inks. Cut out with coordinating dies.
- Adhere the paint swatches to an A2 card base with adhesive foam strips then add elephant.
- Stamp sentiment with black ink on white paper, cut into strips, and adhere it next to the elephant.
- Emboss a piece of white cardstock using the Oak Forest 3D Embossing Folder.
- Ink blend on embossed panel lightly with a rainbow of inks. Repeat gently applying ink until happy with the look. Use a very light hand to run blending brushes over the entire panel to add even more interest.
- Stamp images from Woodland Wildlife Clear Stamp Set. Color with alcohol markers and cut out with coordinating dies.
- Die cut the hoop and screw fitting from Gathering Stitches Etched Dies out of Brushed Gold Cardstock. Cut the hoop twice note from brown cardstock. Adhere together.
- Adhere hoop to a piece of vellum from Woodland Tales Foiled Acetate and Vellum and cut around hoop. It’s not very noticeable on my card but it did make The space behind the critters softer.
- Adhere embossed panel to an A2 card base then adhere hoop. Add stamped images with thin foam squares and liquid glue.
- Stamp and emboss three sentiments with gold embossing powder on brown cardstock. Cut into strips and add to card.
