Playful, Bright and Oh-so-fun: Scrapbooking With “Just Sayin’”

Scrapbooking has been my creative passion for years, and I couldn’t be more excited to showcase three layouts I created using the vibrant and playful Just Sayin’ collection by Kelly Bangs Creative.

This collection is bursting with color, charm, and so many fun elements that make documenting memories a joy. I can’t wait to share how I used this fabulous collection to bring my stories to life!

Just Sayin’: A Layout Full of Fun and Friendship

The first layout I created with the Just Sayin’ collection captures a sweet moment shared with friends. I wanted the design to feel as cheerful and vibrant as the memory itself, so I chose the pastel gingham background as a base. It perfectly complements the playful vibe of the collection while keeping the focus on the photo.

I love how this collection makes it so easy to combine colors and elements that bring joy to every page. Whether it’s through the fun little icons like the tiny smartphone or the dynamic shapes around the photo, each detail tells a story.

For this layout, I also included journaling at the bottom, adding a personal note about the day and location of this memory: a sunny afternoon in Cattolica, enjoying time together by the pool.

This page reminds me that scrapbooking isn’t just about preserving memories—it’s about celebrating the beauty of the everyday in creative ways.

Happy Day: A Playful Freestyle Celebration

For my second layout, I embraced a more freestyle approach to showcase a joyful memory from a birthday celebration. The Just Saying collection made it so easy to have fun with layers, textures, and creative elements.

The background paper, filled with speech bubble outlines, inspired me to incorporate the Speech Bubble Dies from Spellbinders. I paired these with Speech Bubbles Sentiments stamps from the collection to add dynamic sentiments like “Happy Day!” and “You’re amazing!” at the top of the page. These playful bubbles give the layout an energetic vibe and create a natural flow that draws the eye across the design.

To balance the bold top section, I clustered photos at the bottom, highlighting the delicious birthday cakes and happy faces that made this day unforgettable. Adding pops of embellishments like the retro-style camera and stars helped tie everything together, while the title, “Happy Day,” in bright pastel colors, anchors the composition perfectly.

What I love most about this layout is its lively and spontaneous feel. It’s a reminder that crafting doesn’t always need to be precise—it’s about enjoying the process and letting your creativity shine!

Hello Good Times: A Year of Adventures in a Grid

For my final layout, I chose a classic grid design to document the travels and highlights of 2024. The structured layout was perfect for featuring multiple photos while keeping the page clean and organized. With limited space for embellishments, I focused on smaller die-cuts, stickers, and chipboard elements from the Just Saying collection. The variety of sizes made it easy to add fun details like rainbows, stars, and tiny speech bubbles without overcrowding the design. I especially loved the Speech Bubble Stickers for journaling—being made of paper, they’re perfect for writing, as ink adheres beautifully.

The title, “Hello Good Times,” sums up the spirit of the layout: a celebration of all the joy, laughter, and discoveries that made 2024 unforgettable. This project reminded me once again how versatile and fun the Just Saying collection is—perfect for turning memories into meaningful keepsakes.
