2 Layouts and a Card Using Just Sayin’ by Kelly Bangs

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie Dang, and I am the guest designer for this fun collection called, Just Sayin’ by Kelly Bangs. If you would like to see more of my work or follow me, please find me at Instargam and blog. The inspiration for my projects is inspired by the whimsical Christmas feel of the collection featuring pink, mint, gold, and green. You will find all supplies to recreate all layouts at the bottom of my blog post.

  • Step 1: Start with the pink polka-dotted background. Trim ¼’ inch off each side of white cardstock and layer on. Prep the whole area by using a brush along with gesso to prepare for mixed media. Let dry.
  • Step 2: Use the heart die Cut out and assemble 3 large hearts. Place hearts on layout and lightly mark with pencil, and set aside hearts to glue later.
  • Step 3: Mix water with mint green watercolor, and add along the outer edges of the drawn hearts. Adding a few splatters along the way. Do this for all 3 hearts. Let dry.
  • Step 4: Glue hearts on previous positions and make sure the watercolors are seen. If not, repeat step 3.
  • Step 5: Frame photo and add to layout. Add smaller hearts on left and right side of photo.
  • Step 6:  Add larger ephemeras as seen. Tucking in pieces, and adding foam adhesive along the way to make it pop. Add smaller bits and pieces to page. Finish off layout with a “Just Sayin” title to left corner of photo.

  • Step 2: Using the speech bubbles dies and cut out several assorted size bubbles out of pink polka dotted paper.  Set aside.
  • Step 3: Frame your photo in white cardstock and layer on floral paper. Trim access off. Take vellum, place on embossing folder, and run through Spellbinder’s diecutting machine. Adhere layer photos on top of vellum and trim off access. Adhere the layer photos on the page towards bottom right side of page.
  • Step 4: Place and move speech bubbles around the page from top left towards bottom right of photo. Tucking a few underneath photos. Once happy with the way it looks, start to glue them all down.
