Clean And Simple Cards With Simon Hurley’s Space Friends
Hello! Jen Kotas here today with two cards featuring the Space Friends Stamp and Die Sets from Simon Hurley. This is a large stamp set packed with fun and adorable images and sentiments you expect from Simon. There are coordinating dies available for nearly all the images as well. Though I didn’t use any today, these stamps would work wonderfully with the Simon’s Space Adventure Collection.
If you’re familiar with my work here on the Spellbinders Blog, you may be surprised to see such clean and simple cards from me. Sometimes, though, the card just doesn’t need anything else.
I colored the stamped images from the Space Friends Clear Stamp Set with alcohol markers and cut them out with coordinating dies found in the Space Friends Stamp and Die Bundle. I added the images snug up to the sentiment with thin foam squares. If I don’t have dies I often create shadows with gray alcohol markers to create the appearance of dimension.
After adhering the images I cut the panel to 4 x 5 1/4”. This is the perfect time to fix spacing or straighten out the sentiment if it’s a little off. After adhering to a top fold A2 card base with thin foam squares, I added white gel pen highlights and black glaze pen to the nose and eyes.

Love this minimalism! Making simplistic cards work well without looking underdone is a fine line … but you’ve really nailed it! Your clean interpretation gives these images an ageless appeal.I’ve come back to visit them a few times … thank you for sharing!
