2 Layouts and a Card Using Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe by Simple Stories

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie Dang, and I am the guest designer for this beautiful collection called, Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe by Simple Stories.   • Step 1: Start with the butterfly paper as the foundation. Take white cardstock and trim off ¼” inch off each edge. Prep the white cardstock with gesso, and let dry.
  • Step 2: Add purple watercolor to white cardstock using a brush dipped in water. Swirl it around, and create the background. Let that dry. Then, layer that piece on the foundation background. Add stitching around border.
  • Step 3: Using the scallop dies, die cut variety of pieces from selected papers. Add them to background from top left angle to bottom angle. Making sure large pieces are towards the center, and smaller pieces are on the outer edges. Do not glue down until you figure out where you want to place your photo(s).
  • Step 4: Add your photo framed in white cardstock. Die cut scallop border and the flower cart. Assemble pieces and adhere to lthe ayout.
  • Step 5: Add the title and smaller sentiments as seen. Add your journaling. Finish the layout with smaller embellishments like butterflies and gold enamels.

  • Step 1: Start with wooden plank paper as the background. Trim the purple polka-dotted paper to 3” x 10” rectangle. Add in the center of page. Trim butterfly paper to 4” x 10” rectangle and adhere vertically towards left side.
  • Step 2: Fussy cut 2 pieces from the polaroids paper. You will need one with 3 polaroids, and another with only 2. Layer on layout as seen.
  • Step 3: Add your photos towards the center on the layout.
  • Step 4: Die cut scallop border from brown plaid paper. Add in between photos towards left side. Die cut scallop labels using scallop dies in yellow and white. Add to left side of photo along with a label and title. Die cut flowers and color in green, red, blue, yellow, and purple. Set that aside.
  • Step 5: Add flower embellishments to layout on left side of title and top right of photo. Add the bike on bottom left side of photos. Add the butterfly to right side of top photo.
  • Step 6: Finish with subtitles on the bike and below title.

  • Step 1: Start with an A2 base card. Layer on the pattern paper that has layer notes on it.
  • Step 2: Cut blue plaid same size as card, and then trim one corner straight down the other to create a diagonal piece for card. Adhere to card. Take pink scallop border and add between the layers diagonally.
  • Step 3: Add the camera ephemera to bottom. Add the sentiments, “the best” and “thank you”. Finish with heart ephemera to top of best.
