Heartfelt Blooms: Three Stunning Cards with Spellbinders, Ranger Ink, and Simon Hurley!
Hi, friends! I’m Lauren Taylor Made and I’m thrilled to be guest blogging today and sharing my excitement for the gorgeous new Heartfelt Blooms stamp and die set from Simon Hurley, in collaboration with Spellbinders and Ranger Ink. This set is a must-have for anyone who loves creating beautiful floral cards. The detailed blooms and versatile sentiments make it perfect for a variety of occasions, and the coordinating dies ensure flawless results every time. Let’s dive into three unique card designs I created using this fantastic new release!
For my first card, I wanted to create a bold background for the largest flower image. I started by trimming a piece of pink cardstock to A2 size and die-cutting some Essential Hexi-Gems from Peridot cardstock. To add texture, I ran the Hexi-Gems through the Lush Leaves 3D embossing folder. I then used Sidewalk Chalk ink to darken the edges of the pink panel and Overzealous ink to add depth to the green Hexi-Gems. After adhering the embossed Hexi-Gems to the pink panel with foam adhesive, I added some Splatter White Opaque Watercolor. While that dried, I stamped one of the Heartfelt Blooms images with black alcohol marker-friendly ink, colored it with alcohol markers, and die-cut it. I popped up the floral image onto the card front and stamped the sentiment “you are so beautiful” in Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink. Finally, I adhered the panel to an A2 card base and added Graphite gems for a subtle sparkle.
Next, I wanted to create a shaker card with a tone-no-tone stamping feel. I trimmed a piece of kraft cardstock to 4 x 5-1/4 inches and die-cut a Hexi-Gem from the center, running it through the Latticework embossing folder.
After adding white splatter, I die-cut a frame from Dahlia cardstock and adhered it to the kraft panel around the opening. I then added an acetate sheet to the back of the opening. For the shaker element, I ink-blended white cardstock with Overzealous, Piggyback, and Sidewalk Chalk inks and adhered it to an A2 card base. I created the shaker by adding green and pink sequins and clear seed beads. I stamped the floral images in the same ink colors, die-cut them, and added them to the front, carefully coloring the leaves with alcohol markers. I stamped “love you” and “mom” sentiments in Sidewalk Chalk ink, fussy-cut them, and added them along with Graphite gems.
For my final card, I aimed for a subtle and more simple card. I trimmed white cardstock to 4 x 5-1/4 inches and used the Two Way Heart stencil set to create a plaid background with Overzealous, Piggyback, and Sidewalk Chalk inks.
I added Frostbite Astro Paste through the heart stencils for a dimensional effect. While the panel dried, I die-cut two Hexi-Gems from pink and Peridot cardstock. I stamped leaf images with Overzealous on the green Hexi-Gem and flower images with Piggyback on the pink one. After layering them, I popped them onto the stenciled background and adhered the panel to an A2 card base.
I finished by stamping “thanks for all you do” in Sidewalk Chalk ink, fussy-cutting it, and adhering it to the center. I used a white gel pen to add some faux stitching around the Hexi-Gems. I hope you’re as inspired by the Heartfelt Blooms set as I am! Happy crafting!
