Froggy Fun with the Jump For Joy Collection
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of fun cards made with the new Jump For Joy Collection from Spellbinders. This collection is small but super versatile, and I was inspired by the cute frogs and fun scenic elements to create three sweet cards for a variety of occasions.
FROG PRINCE CARD
The centerpiece of the collection is the Frog Prince Die Set, and I couldn’t get over this little guy and his adorable crown. The scenic elements make it so easy to create all different kinds of cards with this set, and I decided to create a cute card perfect for a friend’s birthday or any old day.
Die cut Fern, Peridot, and Mirror Gold Cardstock using the Frog Prince Die Set and assemble the frog with liquid glue. Cut the mushroom from Poppy and Alabaster Cardstock using the same die set, shading the die-cuts with Tea Dye Distress Ink before assembling. Cut and assemble flowers using pink and white cardstocks and stamp a greeting from the Jump For Joy Sentiments Stamp Set in black ink before trimming it into a small strip.
Die cut white and Fern Cardstock using one of the Perfect Touch Arches Dies. Lightly blend Salty Ocean Distress Ink around the edges of the white die-cut. Die cut the green arch using the grass edge from the Landscape Edges Die Set to form a grassy base for your scene with a continuous decorative edge. Assemble the scene as shown, adhering elements with both liquid glue and foam adhesive for tons of dimension. Emboss a piece of Wild Berry Cardstock using the Floral & Vine 3D Embossing Folder and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base before popping the scene and sentiment up on top with foam adhesive.
HOPPY HELLO CARD
Next, I wanted to use some of the images in the Jump For Joy Sentiments Stamp Set to create a different kind of scene. After stamping a few cattails and adding some quick coloring, I had an easy background for this cute hello card for a friend.
Stamp the cattails from the Jump For Joy Sentiments Stamp Set onto both edges of an A2-sized piece of white cardstock using alcohol-friendly ink. Color the images in with Copic markers and die-cut the background out using one of the Perfect Touch Rectangle Dies before blending some Salty Ocean Distress Ink around the edges. Stamp a sentiment from the Jump For Joy Sentiments Stamp Set onto the top of the panel. Die cut Breeze Cardstock with the Perfect Touch Rectangle Dies and trim the top off with scissors in a slightly wavy fashion to resemble water before adhering it to the bottom of the background panel.
Mat the background scene with some Raven Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. Die cut Fern Cardstock three times using the mushroom cap bottom die from the Frog Prince Die Set this piece makes the perfect lily pads too! Die cut three frogs out of pink, teal, and purple cardstocks and assemble with liquid glue before adding them to the scene with their lily pads using foam adhesive.
MARSHY THANK YOU CARD
Lastly, I thought the beautiful scene created by the Lily Pad Stencil Set could stand all on its own on a card. Here a little texture from the Starshine Background Die adds a lot of interest to this otherwise simple thank you card.
Die cut white cardstock using the Starshine Background Die. Apply Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Vintage Photo, Kitsch Flamingo, and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks to the textured panel using the Lily Pad Stencil Set. You may need to blend a little harder if you don’t want the texture to show through the design as much (I wanted as much texture as possible on mine!).
Trim the panel down to 4.125” x 5.375”, mat it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Apply Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Holding Your Heart Sentiments BetterPress Plate, die cut the sentiments out using the coordinating die, and pop it up in the top corner of the card with foam adhesive.
