Classy Cards with Paul Antonio Better Press Plates
Hello Crafters! Nancy Leppek here from Scrapper at Heart.com. I am happy to be back as a guest on the Spellbinder’s Blog. Today, I am sharing three different cards using the recently released Paul Antonio Happy Everything Better Press Sentiments. This release has the most beautiful fonts, especially when they are foiled. For each one of my cards, I have incorporated the delicate Eyelet Scallop Border in my design.
Let’s get to it, shall we!
Hope You’re Feeling Better
I am in love with the new Colorwheel Cardstock, and here I am using a soft color palette using shades of Tutu, Blush, and Brushed White.
- First, I foiled the sentiment in Gold Foil onto the Tutu Cardstock using the gorgeous Paul Antonio Hope You’re Feeling Better BP Plate.
- I cut it out using the Perfect Touch Rectangles.
- Using the Eyelet Scallop Border Dies, I cut the pieces I needed in Brushed White and Blush.
- The flower accent pieces are from the Gorgeous You Collection. The large flower was cut out in white and a backing of gold, and I used pastel chalk and a Q-tip to give the flower some color.
- Now it was time to assemble the card. I popped up the flower with some Foam Squares.
- My signature paper dots from the Gold Treasured Cardstock Collection were used to finish the card.
Happy Birthday
I changed things up a bit and used some Pink Foil on this sentiment. I can’t say enough about these Kokeshi Dolls, they are so much fun to create in any color palette. You can make a birthday extra special by customizing her to a friend’s favorite color.
- Using the Eyelet Scallop Border I cut out 3 layers in the cardstock colors – Lilac, Orchid, and Mulberry.
- The Kokeshi Doll was cut out in the same above colors, along with Fairy Tale, Brushed White, Raven, and Chiffon, and assembled.
- I foiled the Happy Birthday Sentiment in Pink Foil and cut it out with the coordinating die. I always make a second layer for my sentiments. I like them to be a bit more sturdy and have a noticeable height on the cardbase.
- Silver Treasured Cardstock was used for the centers of my flowers.
- To finish it off, I used Foam Squares for the 3 flowers she is holding.
Heartfelt Sympathy
Sympathy cards are never easy to make, but with this gorgeous font foiled in gold, this card came together rather quickly and makes a statement.
- I foiled a piece of Alabaster Cardstock using the Heartfelt Sympathy BP Plate in Gold Foil.
- Unfortunately, it was crooked, so I was forced to cut it out using the Perfect Touch Rectangles. Easy fix! It took my layout in a different direction but we will just call that the creative process.
- Using the Eyelet Scallop Border, I cut out a single scallop.
- For the base of my card, I am using Indigo
- The flowers are from the Lisa Horton Layered Wildflowers set and cut out in Alabaster, Indigo, Cascade, and Gold.
- I went looking for a small bow and ended up creating one myself using a heart and a small piece of the bow from the Gorgeous You Perfume Bottle and Gold Treasured Cardstock.
- A few of my signature paper dots from the Gold Treasured Cardstock Collection finished the card off.
