BetterPress,  Cardmaking

Minimal to More with Modern Botanicals

Hey Crafty Friends, it’s Amy Tsuruta, and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog featuring the beautiful Modern Botanicals Collection by Dina Wakley. If you love her Collaged Birds Collection, you’re going to love the new products!

My first project features the Flourishing  BetterPress Plates.

I challenged myself to design a clean and simple card using Pebble panels. The inks I used are:

I love how the Taffy and Leaf colors POP on the Pebble. The sentiment is from the Holding Your Heart Sentiments BetterPress Plates & Die Set. It was inked in Thunder on a Pebble panel.

Next up is another card that features the Growing Betterpress Plates & Die Set.

This combines the Growing Betterpress Plates & Dies with the Lined Corners 3D Embossing Folder and Lined Circles Embossing Folder, both from the Modern Botanicals Collection by Dina Wakley. Check out all that texture from the Lined Corners 3D embossing folder on the Porcelein BetterPress Panel. The leaf has been inked up with Cruise BetterPress Ink. I die-cut the leaf with the die that is included in the set. The sentiment is from the Holding Your Heart Sentiments BetterPress Plates & Die Set. It was inked in Bark on a Porcelein panel.

The semicircles? They were cut from my original panel that I used in the Lined Circles Embossing Folder.  I had inked up the raised detailing with white pigment ink I had on hand.  I didn’t clean up enough so the white ink was where I didn’t want it.  I rescued the panel by using a circle die to cut out the center circle, and then I trimmed it in half.

My final project features the Growing Betterpress Plates & Die Set.

The white ink on the Lined Circles Embossing Folder turned out perfect on my second try. I had a strip of Porcelein paper that I layered different plates onto using different ink colors:

I added foam dimensional strips for the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I adore this beautiful collection, and I can’t wait to see how you’re inspired.  You can find me over on instagram @craftee1.
