Fun Holiday Cards with the North Pole Friends Collection

Hi there, this is Annie Williams, and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of fun holiday cards made with the North Pole Friends Collection by Simon Hurley.  There are so many adorable character options in this collection to make cute projects all season long, and I chose a couple of my favorites to create three easy cards perfect for sending a little holiday cheer.

Let It Snow Card

The North Pole Sentiments Die Set can be used to build two adorable snowmen and a ton of fun sentiment signs to hang on a sweet candy cane pole.  Here I added this cute guy to an easy snowy scene to create a simple and bright Christmas card for a friend.

Die cut white, Poppy, Raven, and Fern Cardstock using the snowman and pole dies from the North Pole Sentiments Die Set and assemble everything with liquid glue.  Die cut white cardstock using the hill die from the Landscape Edges Die Set and trim it down to 4” wide.

Trim a piece of Breeze Cardstock to 4” x 5.25” and emboss it with the Sparkling Snow 3D Embossing Folder.  Add the embossed panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a tape runner and pop the snowy hill up on top with foam adhesive.  Adhere the snowman and sentiments to the card front with more foam adhesive.

Polar Bear Winter Scene Card

I thought the bears in the Polar Bear Pals Die Set were so adorable, I had to pick them up next.  This time, I stenciled a fun wintry background for these cute guys to create a fun holiday card.

Die cut white, Alabaster, Waterfall, and Lavender Cardstock using the bear dies from the Polar Bear Pals Die Set, add a little shading with coordinating inks, and assemble with liquid glue.  Apply Prism Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Joyful Christmas Sentiments Plate & Die Set and cut the sentiments out with the coordinating die.  Trim a piece of Lilac Cardstock to 4” x 5.25”, emboss it using the Monoline Stars Embossing Folder, mat it with Mirror Silver Cardstock, and add it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.

Die cut white cardstock using one of the Perfect Touch Arches Dies and apply Mowed Lawn Distress Ink through the Winter Scene Maker Stencil Set to create the tree line.  Blend Salty Ocean Distress Ink over the top of the arch and then add the snow by applying embossing paste through the snowy stencil from the set.  Once dry, add the background scene to the card front with foam adhesive and pop the bears and the sentiment up on top with more foam adhesive.

Mrs. Claus & Her Cookies Card

Lastly, I couldn’t get over how cute Mrs. Claus and her plate of cookies was from The Clauses Die Set was and wanted to create a card that focused on just her, without her famous sidekick!

Die cut white, Chiffon, Pomegranate, and Fern Cardstock using the Mrs. Claus dies from The Clauses Die Set and assemble with liquid glue.  Die cut a frame for her out of white and Fern Cardstock using the Nested Postage Labels & Tag Die Set, and add just a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the center of the white panel to help her pop off the page more.

Trim a piece of Pomegranate Cardstock to 4” x 5.25”, emboss it using the Argyle Plaid 3D Embossing Folder, mat it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.  Apply Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using one of the sentiments from the Country Christmas Banner & Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set and cut it out with the coordinating die.  Pop the sentiment and framed Mrs. Claus up on top of the card front with foam adhesive.
