Hello there, Michelle Short here to share a step-by-step tutorial with you using Day 12 of the 13 Days of Craft-O-Ween Advent Calendar. I hope you are enjoying all the inspiration so far! Day 12 is all about the cauldron!

STEP 1 – DIE CUTTING THE CAUDRON + ACCESSORIES

- Cut pieces of ColorWheel Cardstock to be slightly larger than the size of the dies.
- Place the cauldron, cauldron handles, cauldron rim, leg stripes, and feet dies onto Onyx Glitter Metallic Treasured Cardstock and hold in place with Best Ever Craft Tape. Note: The tape will not stick very well to the glitter cardstock.
- Place top layer of skull and bone dies onto Classic White ColorWheel Cardstock and hold in place with Best Ever Craft Tape.
- Place legs of cauldron die onto Lilac ColorWheel Cardstock and hold in place with Best Ever Craft Tape.
- Place bubbles die onto Fairy Tale ColorWheel Cardstock and hold in place with Best Ever Craft Tape.
Holding dies down with tape prevents them from shifting when going through the die-cutting machine. Use a low-tack tape like Best Ever Craft Tape so that it removes easily from the cardstock.

- Create your die cutting plate sandwich – (bottom to top) A Platform Base, B Platform Top, C Cutting Plate, cardstock pieces with dies on top, C Cutting Plate.
- Run through Platinum SIX Die Cutting Machine.
- Remove dies from cardstock and pop out die cuts.
- Repeat process to cut another bone from Classic White ColorWheel Cardstock, bubbles from Lavender and Lilac ColorWheel Cardstock (as well as another layer from Fairy Tale), and base of skull from Raven ColorWheel Cardstock.
STEP 2 – ASSEMBLE CAULDRON

- Add Bearly Art Glue onto the front of the handle piece and adhere main cauldron on top.
- Adhere rim of cauldron on top.

- Adhere stripes to legs of cauldron.
- Adhere shoes to the bottom of the legs.
- Adhere main cauldron piece at the top.

- Place a small piece of Best Ever Craft Tape on the back to secure in place.
TIP: Adding Best Ever Craft Tape on the back helps to hold the parts in place while the glue dries and also gives some stability to the cauldron legs.

- Adhere base layer of bubbles to the top of the cauldron.

- Adhere bones on top. I cut the bottoms of the bones off, but this is not necessary as the other layers of bubbles will cover the bottom anyway.

- Adhere second layer of bubbles overlapping the bottom of the bones.
- Adhere top part of skull to the base and adhere to the right-hand side of the bubbles.

- Adhere three of the smaller bubble pieces on top.
STEP 3 – CREATING THE CARD BASE

- Cut panel of Carrot ColorWheel Cardstock into 4” x 5.5”.
- Place inside Mini MISTI (or stamping platform of choice).
- Place sentiment on top and close MISTI door to pick up the stamp.

- Ink up stamp using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink (or black ink of choice).
- Close MISTI door to stamp onto cardstock.
- Repeat process to get a good impression of ink.

- Place panel onto a sticky mat to hold in place while ink blending.
- Using a Large Blending Brush and Tangerine Ink, add ink blending around the edges of the panel.
- Repeat the process using a Medium Blending Brush and Pumpkin Ink.
- Adhere panel to white A2-sized card base using tape runner adhesive.
I like to use a smaller brush when I want to apply less ink and a large brush when I want to apply more. In this case, I used a smaller brush for the darker ink, as I didn’t want as much of it showing on the panel.
STEP 5 – ASSEMBLE THE CARD

- Add foam squares to the back of the cauldron. You may need to cut some down to cover all the areas.
- Remove backings off of foam tape (I like to use tweezers for this).

- Adhere to card so that cauldron is standing on the bottom of the orange panel.

- Embellish with Onyx Color Essentials Gems.

This cauldron is so fun! I kept to using only the dies in the calendar for my card but have fun adding lots of different goodies to the cauldron! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a great day!
