3 Sweet Gingerbread Cards: A Trio of Holiday Inspiration
Hey Crafty Friends, it’s Amy Tsuruta, and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog featuring the sweet Candy Christmas Collection with Stamperia.

Do you have holiday traditions? We love to decorate gingerbread houses. We also have a crafty day. Last year, we painted and decorated small wooden houses. This year, I want to move to baking a gingerbread village to decorate.

My first card features the Gingerbread Plane & Banner Etched Dies. My husband is a pilot, and every year I design holiday cards for his pilot friends. Keeping this in mind, I decided to make this my template for that group. I kept it clean and simple so that it would be easy to mass-produce.
- The base is a Fawn A2 card panel.
- I trimmed down a Seaside panel and cut the three cloud dies from the set.
- I then put together the airplane, building it with Fawn for the base, along with Seaside and Alabaster.
- I used Fawn and Raven for the banner. The airplane and banner are on foam dimensional adhesive.
TIP: Do you notice that I used the basic color palette for all three cards? That makes it easier for me to design a set of cards.

My second card features the Gingerbread Delivery Etched Dies. I love using nontraditional colors for the holidays. Lately I’ve been adding pink to all my designs.
- I started off with an A2 Seaside panel and used the Petite Criss Cross Press Plate, inked up with Teal Topaz from the Tropical BetterPress Ink Mini set.
- I combined the Lots of Stripes Etched Dies and the clouds from the Gingerbread Plane & Banner Etched Dies.
- The gingerbread parachuter has been cut from Fawn, Tutu, and Chiffon.
- I added some gold detail using the Gold Assortment Treasured Cardstock.
- I added the wrapped gift and candy cane, too.
- The sentiment is from the Dancin’ Christmas Sentiments Clear Stamp Set. I wanted to bring out the gold details, so I decided to heat emboss the sentiment in gold.
TIP: Gold accents add warmth and texture to a design.

My final card features the Gingerbread House Etched Dies. This die has so many details and fun layers. I have some fun ideas for future card designs.
- For the A2 Fawn base, I used the Waffle Cone 3D Embossing Folder.
- The Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals have been cut in Chiffon and Seaside.
- I managed to use the trio of clouds from the Gingerbread Plane set in all three of my cards.
- I finished off my card with a sentiment from the Dancin’ Christmas Sentiments Clear Stamp Set, which has been heat embossed in white.
TIP: Upcycle the circles from the house front. I used them as added details for the roofline.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I adore this sweet collection, and I can’t wait to see how you’re inspired. You can find me over on instagram @craftee1.
