A Holly Jolly Christmas with the Say Cheese Classic Mouse Christmas Collection

The new Say Cheese Classic Mouse Christmas Collection from Spellbinders, launching this September, is perfect for adding some festive cheer to your holiday crafting. This collection is ideal for creating whimsical Christmas cards, tags, and more. Let’s take a closer look at a few projects created with these delightful new products.

Festive Wreath Card

This festive card was created using multiple die sets from the new collection. The background is Oceanside Cardstock.

The classic figures of mice were die-cut from the Steamboat Willie Duo Etched Dies and then enhanced with holiday cheer. The “Merry Christmas” wreath and a large bow were die-cut using the Classic Mouse Holiday Wreath die set. This die set also includes the “Merry Christmas” sentiment die, which was cut and layered over a half-donut shape of white cardstock to make the letters stand out. The bow was die-cut from Poppy cardstock.

The Santa hats, scarves, and holly leaves for both mice were created with the Classic Mouse Christmas Embellishment die set. Finally, the card was finished with opal gems for a touch of sparkle.

Mouse Decorates the Tree

This serene, winter-themed card features Mouse decorating a charming Christmas tree. The Seaside Cardstock background was embossed with the Starry Snowfall 3D Embossing Folder, and white pigment ink was then applied to the raised areas to accentuate the snowy design.

A small hill was created from white glitter cardstock from the Antique White Assorted Treasured Cardstock set, die-cut with the Landscape Edges die. The hill was attached to the card front using foam adhesive for added dimension.

The Christmas tree was die-cut using the Faux Embroidered Spruce Etched Dies from the Nichol’s Needlework Collection. The pink ornaments on the tree and the one held by Mouse were die-cut from Tutu Cardstock to create a perfectly coordinated look. Santa’s hat, scarf, and holly leaves were all die-cut from the Classic Mouse Christmas Embellishments die set. For the finishing touch, the “Peace & Joy” sentiment was hot foiled in matte gold onto black cardstock using a plate from the Design a Plaid Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set from the October 2024 Glimmer Hot Foil Plate of the Month Club, and it was placed at the base of the tree.

Mouse with Christmas Lights

Mouse takes center stage on this fun and festive card, playfully tangled in a string of colorful lights.

The background is Oceanside Cardstock. A panel of white cardstock, cut to 4 x 5 ¼ inches, was used to create the main design. A circular die was used to cut a Mouse head-shaped window in the center of the panel. The panel was then embossed with the Holiday Lights 3D Embossing Folder to create a patterned background. The raised string was colored with a silver metallic marker, and the lights were colored with red, blue, and yellow markers to bring the scene to life.

Mouse was die-cut using the Steamboat Willie Duo die. His hat and scarf were die-cut from the Classic Mouse Christmas Embellishments die and added to the figure. To give the card a layered, dimensional look, both the colored panel and the Mouse figure were attached to the Oceanside background with foam stickers. For a final playful touch, additional Christmas lights and strings die-cut from the Classic Mouse Holiday Wreath die set were attached around the Mouse figure. The card was finished with a sentiment hot foiled in white onto Poppy cardstock using the Mistletoe Greeting Press Plate and Die Set.
