Scenic Light Up Card With Pear Blossom Press One Light
Hello everyone! Rachel Alvarado here with a holiday scenic light-up card using a Pear Blossom Press One Light combined with the Woodland Scene Etched Dies. I absolutely adore interactive cards, so I had a lot of fun creating this light-up card. The One Lights are super easy to use, so I tried to keep my card basic so that the steps would be simple to follow if you have never made a card like this before.

DIE-CUT IMAGES

- Die cut all the pieces from colored cardstock.
- Assemble the trees and deer together with liquid adhesive
- Set aside the images to work on the background.
EMBOSS CARD BASE

- Trim a piece of white card stock to 4.25” x 5.5”
- Emboss this piece with the Sparkling Snow 3D Embossing Folder
INK BLEND & DIE-CUT BACKGROUND SKY

- Trim a piece of smooth white card stock to 3.5” wide by 4.75” tall
- Blend from the bottom to the top with Distress Inks (or colors of your choice), starting with the darkest color at the bottom and working your way up toward the lightest color, eventually fading to white.
TIP: You can use colored cardstock instead if you don’t want to ink blend the sky.

- Use the second largest stitched rectangle die from the Nested Postage Labels & Tags Etched Dies to die cut the background sky panel.
- Use the same rectangle die from step 3 and die cut another stitched rectangular piece from white cardstock.
- Use the border die from the Woodland Scene Etched Dies to create a snow drift.
ADHERE ONE LIGHT

- Trim a piece of Oceanside Cardstock slightly larger than the background sky panel and adhere to the embossed card base.
- Align your card in the layout you wish to use without adhering anything in place.
- Line up the One Light bulb exactly where you want it and mark the spot where the button will lay once it is placed beneath the background sky panel and lightly mark this spot with a pencil.

- Stamp or write the word PRESS onto your background sky panel at the spot you marked for the button.

USE FOAM TAPE AND MOON DIE TO CREATE ROOM FOR THE LIGHT

- Add 3D foam adhesive tape around the light and Oceanside blue panel to create a space between the light and the background sky panel.
TIP: Make sure to leave room around the edges so that you can see the dark blue layer and not the foam adhesive tape once you add the background sky panel on top of the foam tape.

- Use the small moon die to die cut a perfect circle exactly where the moon will lie on the card.

- Glue a piece of clear acetate on the back of the panel over the hole that was die cut for the moon.

- Attach the background sky panel on top of the foam tape.
- Die-cut a moon from Fog Cardstock and glue it on top of the acetate. The moon should fit perfectly into the die-cut hole.
ASSEMBLE CARD BACKGROUND

- Stamp your sentiment (any sentiment is fine) onto the stitched snow drift and adhere to your card base with 3D foam adhesive tape.

- Glue the birch trees into place.
- Add the pine trees and deer with more dimensional foam tape.

And voila! You should now have a fun, simple light-up card! It’s so much fun to see the moon illuminate when the button is pressed.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and will give this technique a try of your own! These fun little lights can be used for all types of cards and can be used all year round.
