Frohe Weihnachten Made Easy! International Holiday Sentiments Card Tutorial
Hello, crafty friends! Isha Gupta here, and I am so happy to be on the Spellbinders blog featuring the German Holiday Sentiments. I am glad that Spellbinders came up with the international sentiments, it would be perfect for my this year’s Christmas cards. I decided to go with a Clean and Simple card design as it’s easy to mass produce, while having to prepare so much around the holiday season. I feel it’s never too soon to start on the Holiday cards, though.

Even if the card is clean and simple, I will be sharing how to add dimension to it, without adding any bulk (3d foam/ layers). This makes the project mail-friendly, too. So let’s start.
I used the Spellbinders Platinum 6 Die Cutting & Embossing Machine.
I am using the following sandwich for all my die-cutting using the Spellbinders Universal Plates. The basic die-cutting sandwich starts with the Base Platform A, then the top platform B. Next is a Clear Plate C. Then your cardstock with die on top of that, placing the cut edges of the die facing down towards the cardstock. Then another top Clear Plate C
Step 1
Start by die-cutting the sentiments (Frohe Weihnachten) using the Mirror Gold Cardstock. I also die-cut the shadow layer using the Spellbinders Vellum.

Step 2
Die-cut three pine trees from the Ski Lodge Etched Dies.

Step 3
Add color to the trees in an ombré to add interest. I chose to add the shades of coral, bright green, and sage green. Change the colors as per your liking.

Step 4
Take an A2 (4.25×5.5”) size white panel and sponge some turquoise ink, keeping it a bit lower from the center.

Step 5
Die-cut a frame from the Mirror Gold Cardstock. Take the Nested Postage Edge dies. Tape two of the outermost dies together using the yellow tape, and this will give us a frame. Adhere this frame to the A2 sponged panel.

Step 6
Flick gold watercolor to the panel and the trees using a brush.

Step 7
Now, to add dimension, take an embossing tool and curl the edges. This will give us instant dimension. Remember, we are not using any 3d foam on the card.

Step 8
Adhere this panel to a white card base, and the card is ready. To finish, I adhered some gems to the trees. Here are two more photos to see how they look.
