No Adventure Is Complete Without You
Hi everyone! Ilina Crouse here, and I am happy to be back on the Spellbinders blog, this time sharing a few cards using the Wonder of Oz collection. I loved watching the Wizard of Oz animated series when I was growing up, and this collection made me travel back in time to my childhood.
There are several products in this collection, and they work so well together.

No Adventure Is Complete Without You Card
I love the Wonder of Oz Silhouette die from the collection, so I had to use it right away.

To make a card:
- Step 1: Cut a piece of white cardstock measuring 5 ¾” x4 ½”. Ink blend the background using purples, pinks, and orange ink pads of your choice.
- Step 2: To make the stars, use Splatter Opaque White watercolor. Set aside to dry.
- Step 3: Die-cut the silhouette from Raven cardstock and trim the bottom. The silhouette is a little wider than 5 ½” and I found it best works with a 5 ¾” wide piece of cardstock.

- Step 4: Use the Wonder of Oz Sentiments and white foil to foil the sentiments. Die cut the sentiments using the coordinating die. You will use the one that says No Adventure is complete without you, and save the rest for other projects.
- Step 5: Adhere the silhouette die cut onto the ink-blended background, using foam tape, and add the sentiment.
- Step 6: Create a note card that is 5 ¾” x 4 ½” (9” x 5 ¾” piece of white cardstock folded in half) and adhere the ink-blended panel to it.
Never Doubt Your Magic Card
For this card, I combined several of the products from this collection.

To make the card:
- Step 1: Cut a piece of Seaside cardstock to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”. Using the Wonder of Oz Frame & Tag Betterpress Plate and pool colored ink pad, run it through your die-cutting machine using the Betterpress system.
- Step 2: Die-cut the tag from the middle and set it aside for another project.
- Step 3: Using the dies from the Field of Poppies 3D embossing folder, die cut several from Poppy cardstock.
- Step 4: Position the die cuts in the embossing folder and run through your die cutting machine using the sandwich for 3D embossing folders. Add dark gray ink in the center of each poppy and add dots with a white gel pen. Set aside.
- Step 5: Cut a piece of Beeswax cardstock to 2 x 4 ¼” and emboss it using the Field of Poppies embossing folder. On the back side, run white pigment ink (I used Unicorn ink from Hero Arts) to add some contrast. Set aside to dry.

- Step 6: Using the Dorothy & the Witches Betterpress plate and black foil, foil Dorothy on watercolor paper. Watercolor it and die cut using the coordinating die.
- Step 7: Die cut the greenery from the Wonder of Oz Frame and Tag Betterpress set from Rainforest and Fern cardstocks.
- Step 8: Now we can assemble the card. Create a top-folding A2 white card (11” x 4 ¼” scored in half) and adhere the yellow poppies piece on the bottom.
- Step 9: Using thin foam tape, adhere the Seaside frame. Next, using foam tape, adhere Dorothy.
- Step 10: Arrange and adhere the poppies and the greenery around the frame (bottom half), then adhere the sentiment (you should have this one left over from the first card). You are done!
Experience is the Only Thing Card
For this card, I am also using a few items from this collection.

To make the card:
- Step 1: Cut a piece of Blush cardstock measuring 4 ¼” x 5 ½”. Emboss it using the Field of Poppies Embossing folder. Set aside.
- Step 2: Using black foil and the Dorothy and the Witches Bettepress plate, foil the Dorothy and the good witch on watercolor paper. Watercolor, or use any other medium of your choice, and die then using the coordinating dies. Set aside.
- Step 3: Cut a piece of Seaside cardstock to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and foil the images from the Tin Man, Scarecrow & Lion Betterpress plates on the background. Use the blue foil from the Satin Pastels Hot foil pack. They would all fit together on an A2-sized panel.

- Step 4: Die-cut the foiled background using the Linear Touch rectangles and tag dies (I used the 3rd from the largest die).
- Step 5: Now, it’s time to assemble the card. Create a top-folding note card from white cardstock, same as for the second card. Adhere the embossed background to the card base using liquid adhesive. Next, add the foiled panel using foam tape. Using more foam tape, adhere Dorothy and the good witch, then use one of the sentiments from the card one and adhere with foam tape, too.
You are done!
