Astrology-Inspired Cards Using the Spellbinders Block Print Zodiacs

Hello, crafting friends! Heejung Hunsberger here, and I am so honored to be joining Spellbinders today as a Guest Designer to introduce the new Block Print Zodiacs Collection.

For this collection, I focused on a classic and elegant look, drawing inspiration from the timeless beauty of the mysteries of the night sky. From the intricate registration press plates to the celestial details, I created these cards to help you celebrate the unique personality of every zodiac sign.

A Midnight Bloom for Virgo

The first card features Virgo and uses an elegant combination of silver and soft florals.

• Base & Frame: I used the exclusive die set from the Spellbinders All Clubs Crate of January. The base is Waterfall Cardstock, topped with a white panel decorated with “doodle-style” frame elements die-cut from Silver Cardstock.

• Florals: To frame the center, I die-cut flowers using Oceanside, Blush, and Dahlia Cardstock.

• Focal Point: I hot foiled the Block Print Virgo plate onto Indigo Cardstock using Matte Silver Hot Foil.

• Finishing: A few Crystal Mix Essential Gems were added for the perfect sparkle.

Golden Aura in the Night Garden

Next is the Capricorn card, featuring a “night garden” theme with a classic postage-stamp frame.

• Frame: I utilized the frame from this month’s “Hummingbirds Delight” Large Die of the Month set.

• Focal Point: I used Onyx Assorted Treasured Cardstock (pearl metallic) and hot foiled the Block Print Capricorn Registration Press Plate with Aura Foil.

• Nocturnal Flowers: The flowers from the Large Die set were die-cut from Black and Gray cardstock to create a moody, nocturnal look.

• Sentiment: I foiled the coordinating sentiment on white cardstock with Aura Foil and die-cut it to fit the frame.

I am completely in love with how this collection captures the personality of each zodiac sign. Whether you are creating for yourself or a loved one, these plates make every card feel like a personal masterpiece!
