Quick and Easy Die Cut Sentiments by Melissa Phillips

Hi everyone! My name is Melissa Phillips from @lilybeanmom. I’m delighted to join you today with a card tutorial using the new Essentially Yours dies. Creating beautiful cards with easy, effortless die-cut sentiments is a delightful way to add dimension and character to each card you create, so let’s get started.

The Essentially Yours die cut collection includes sentiments such as Thank You, Thinking of You, Get Well Soon, With Sympathy, and more. Use these die-cut sentiments on their own or add an embossing folder and flowers for more personality. The choice is yours!

Begin with an aqua card base measuring 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”. Using Distress Mix 3D Embossing Folder, run aqua card base through your die cut machine, sandwiched in your embossing folder.

After embossing, using a sponge applicator brush, lightly add green and deep aqua ink over upper and lower corners of your card base, alternating colors in corners.

Add a 2” strip of patterned paper across the center of your card base. I used patterned paper from Rosie’s Studio Jubilee 6×6” paper pad. This simple step of adding in coordinating patterned paper is an easy way to add extra color and pattern. I use patterned paper on about each card I create and love this simple addition.

Use the 4th in size, arch, from the Perfect Touch Arches Etched Dies collection. Die cut from white cardstock and add to the center of your card. This provides an area of focus to your card and a perfect spot to add your die-cut sentiment.

Die cut Essentially Yours Thank You shadow die from pink cardstock, and the top scripted sentiment die from white cardstock. Adhere together in preparation to add to your card front.

Adhere completed die cut sentiment to the center of your card front. I like to use White Foam Adhesive Squares Mix – 1MM for this step because it allows your sentiment to pop from your card and adds an extra layering effect.

Die-cut a few florals to surround your sentiment. I used Mini Blooms and Sprigs after die cutting and coloring using sponge applicator brushes.

Adhere die-cut flowers around your die-cut sentiment, drawing your eyes inward toward your focal point and adding a pop of extra color and frill.

Add a few scattered adhesive pearls surrounding your focal point and Crystal Stickles glitter to the centers of your flowers to finish your card.

Thank you so much for joining me today. Fill your cart full of these inspiring, new Essentially Yours dies and other Spellbinders products and create something full of life and personality. I hope you enjoy every minute of creating.
