This is the latest collection from Susan Tierney-Cockburn and it includes five new floral etched die sets, along with a couple of embossing folders and a background die. Let’s Get Realistic … With a Modern Twist!
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog to share three projects with you using the Through the Arbor Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. I love how realistic these flowers are. You can create them in a few different ways. I went with traditional, but with a modern twist! TAKE CARE DELPHINIUMS These delphiniums are so pretty! I love blue and purple tones, so have always loved these flowers! To make this card: I cut the Bamboo Trellis Background four times from Alabaster Cardstock. I added ink blending on top using Distress Inks and Blending Brushes. The pieces were assembled (two base…

Through the Arbor Collection Introduction with Susan Tierney-Cockburn
Hello Paper Gardeners, I’m Susan Tierney-Cockburn and I’m excited to introduce my latest collection with Spellbinders, Through the Arbor. Since early civilization, gardeners have searched for ways to emphasize and delineate their garden spaces and arbors accomplish this by providing a dreamy entry into the garden. An arbor invites you in to a magical setting of different plants that enhance the senses and brings a relaxing atmosphere our hectic days. These covered shelters that were originally built to provide shade, now offer a way to punctuate the walk way into your garden! There are five (5) new flowers and shrubs, a 3-dimensional Arbor (of course) and a background embossing folder,…

Coloring BetterPress Images with Colored Pencils
Hello! I’m Jen Kotas from Who Stole My Glitter and I’m happy to be here today to share three cards featuring the Spring Sampler Collection from Simon Hurley. There are two BetterPress sets along with a 3D embossing folder. I’m not great with watercolor no matter what type I’m using. I’m most familiar and comfortable with alcohol markers but they don’t work well with the BetterPress ink or cardstock. My preferred medium for coloring BetterPress images is colored pencils. Before I got to work, I embossed three A2 panels using the Woven 3D Embossing Folder. I added ink later to customize the backgrounds. After impressing all of the Spring Magnolias…

Custom Backgrounds With Small Stamps
Hello! I’m Jen Kotas from Who Stole My Glitter and I’m happy to be here today to share three cards featuring the January 2024 Collection from Simon Hurley. All three cards feature backgrounds made using the small stamps in each set. All three cards I’m sharing use small stamps to create a background to highlight the main image. The use of a stamp positioner helps with placement and when using multiple ink colors on one stamp but this look can be achieved without. Using a stamp positioner, place the small stamps from the Big Hugs Stamp Set close together and stamp using a teal ink pad. Rearrange the stamps and…

I have three super fun cards to share with you today using the new Simon Hurley stamp and die collection for January 2024. This collection has three large stamp sets and coordinating dies are available for them. You will see repetition in each of my cards using embossing folders, Mica Stains, and a doubled-up focal element. SENDING BIRTHDAY HUGS For my first card, I used the new Monster Hugs stamp set and coordinating dies. I stamped out two of the cute animals with Copic-friendly ink and then colored them in with my Copic markers.…
