Hi friends! Emily Midgett from Sixth Street Sundries is here with you today on the Spellbinders blog, and I’m so excited to be featuring these beautiful new images from the Simon Hurley Spring Sampler Better Press collection! These images are classic and utterly reminiscent of springtime, featuring some storybook bunnies that are channeling Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit illustrations, an embossing folder that adds beautifully subtle and neutral basket texture, and some elegant magnolia images that are gorgeous with or without coloring. I have three projects to share with you today upon which I have added lots of color with both inks and colored pencils, so let’s get started with the…

Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using wax seals made with the latest wax bead colors and bead mixes from Spellbinders. The fun new colors and mixes give you so many more color scheme possibilities when adding wax seals to your projects and I was inspired to create two cards and a pretty embellished envelope. Birthday in Blues Card I loved the richness of the new Ink Wax Beads and thought it would be fun to create a monochromatic (mostly) birthday card with all of my favorite blue Spellbinders supplies. Design Decisions: Keeping the Process Simple Using the Stylish Ovals Collection with Joan Bardee
Hello crafters! Do you have a hard time settling on a card design? I’m Joan Bardee and I confess to remaking my cards multiple times. Today I’m sharing how I simplified my design decisions using the beautiful Stylish Ovals Collection. I took a long look at the collection and noted that several of the products have a symmetrical or near-symmetrical design. Symmetry, where one half of the design mirrors the other half, is balanced and evokes calm. So, for each card, I opted to use: 1. the same limited color palette (red/peach, white, and/or gold), and 2. a symmetrical or near symmetrical layout. I found that by making these decisions…

Fall Tiered Tray and Gnomes with Karen Reátegui

I’ve been making cards for over 5 years now and most of my creations are shared on my blog, and you can also follow all of my cards and projects over my Instagram @_littleblessings_. This project was really fun to create, a fabulous Tiered Tray with lots of elements to make some fall cards from the Tiered Tray Collection by Becky Roberts. I was inspired by a fall color palette and I tried to stick to those colors but I gave each card its own personal touch. My preferred technique was die cutting and…
