A Watercolored Starry Holiday with Dina Wakley
Hello friends, I’m Lorena Wakefield, and I’m so happy to be back on the Spellbinders Blog as a guest designer. Today I’m sharing a trio of festive projects featuring the absolutely gorgeous Dina Wakley Starry Holiday Collection. This collection is filled with whimsical, hand-drawn designs that translate beautifully into holiday cards, and it was such a joy to pair them with some of my favorite Spellbinders tools. I worked with BetterPress plates for the focal images and then added soft washes of color using Distress Inks as watercolors. The combination of crisp letterpress impressions with loose, painterly coloring gives these cards an artistic, heartfelt touch. Let’s take a closer look at…

Starry Holiday Vibes: A Set of Three Cards
Hey Crafty Friends, it’s Amy Tsuruta, and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog featuring the super festive Starry Holiday Collection by Dina Wakley. I’m smitten with Dina’s Spellbinders Collections, including her new BetterPress Inks, which are vibrant and versatile. I’ve designed three cards that feature each of Dina’s new sets. I love all things BetterPress, so this collection has me so inspired. One of my favorite sets is the Merry, Merry, Merry Bird. You can easily use each of the images as the main focal point for a card design. I’ve captured all of them in my card. The scale of both the bird and the ornament…

Step by Step Tutorial: Multicolor BetterPress Cards Made Easy
Hi there crafty friends! I’m Rebecca Keppel and today I am sharing the simplest way to create a multicolor BetterPress card using the Spellbinders Flourishing Betterpress Plates with a Registration Template. If you’ve never used a Spellbinders Registration template, don’t worry! I’ll share all the steps you need to follow, but essentially, the Registration template is an acetate sheet marked with each of the plates from the set. You will run the plates through in various passes and each pass is designated by a separate color on the acetate. So the first step is to tape the acetate to the BetterPress Chase (which is the magnetic platform that will hold the press…

The beautiful BetterPress plates and versatile embossing folders in this collection inspired me to create three easy and inky cards for a variety of occasions. Hello Friend Card I love a good embossing folder and never hesitate to make it the star of the show. Three Techniques Using Dina Wakley Collaged Birds
Hello! Jen Kotas is here today with three cards featuring the Dina Wakley Collaged Birds Collection. This collection includes two embossing folders, two registration press plates sets and a set with many press plate sentiments. I decided to combine hot foiling and impressing with the registration press plates and I love how they turned out. Remember to use BetterPress Cotton Card Panels for your foiling if you are combining it with the BetterPress System. I would also suggest hot foiling first because in my experience I’m more likely to need to redo foiling than impressing. Line up the registration template for the Collaged Birds Registration Plates over an A2 Porcelain…
