Can Poppies Be Blue?
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog today sharing three projects using Yana’s Poppies Collection. This beautiful collection features a poppy die, as well as a poppy background press plate (with or without a coordinating stencil). Poppies are generally red in color, maybe yellow or orange, but blue is quite rare. I did, however, base mine off the Himalayan blue poppy, which I think is absolutely beautiful! HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES For my first card, I am using the Poppy Background Press Plate. This is such a stunning background! You can color the poppies with lots of different coloring mediums or use…

Red, White & Blue Christmas Cards Featuring Home for the Holidays
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog today sharing three cards using the Home for the Holidays Collection. This collection features lots of dies and press plates and I am using a few on my cards today. All my cards feature the color blue today. I did not plan for that when I was making them, but I do like blue for the holidays, especially when combined with white and red! NICK For my first card, I have combined St. Nick Etched Dies with the Sprinkled Confetti Press Plate to make a mini slimline card. To make this card: Die cut…

Mini Slimnline Trio Featuring Copperplate Holiday Sentiments
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog today sharing three cards using the Copperplate Holiday Sentiments Collection by Paul Antonio. These beautiful script sentiments can be used in lots of different ways, and I love that they are large, so take center stage on the cards! These are Press Plates but can be foiled too, as you will see from my cards. I decided to make mini slimline cards today (3.5” x 6”) as I felt the sentiments fitted well with that design, but they work perfectly for all shapes and sizes of cards too! MERRY CHRISTMAS For my first card,…

Glimmering Flowers With Jennifer
Hello everyone! This is Jennifer Rustioni from @armieritagli! I’m so happy to be here again as a guest on the Spellbinders Blog! Today I share with you three cards I created featuring the new wonderful Spellbinders Glimmering Flowers Collection! MISTLETOE KISS The first card I realized is featuring the lovely Spellbinders Glimmering Buttercups Hot Foil Plate. I used the Spellbinders Champagne Glimmer Hot Foil Roll to foil the flowers on a creamy-colored cardstock. I colored the flowers and the leaves blending some Distress Ink using the coordinate Stencil Set. I realized a gold foiled banner with the sentiment, using the Spellbinders Curved Everyday Sentiments Hot Foil Plate & Die Set.…

(Almost!) One Layer Wonders
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog sharing inspiration using the Glimmering Flowers collection. Today I have three cards to share that are (almost) one-layer cards. Whilst I love adding dimension on my cards, for mailing purposes, it is easier having less dimension! GET WELL SOON For my first card, I wanted to create a shaped card. I find that shaped cards add more interest to clean and simple cards. To make this card: I took a panel of white cardstock and placed a piece of Silver Foil shiny side up on top. I placed the Glimmering Buttercups Glimmer Plate on…
