Vintage Vibes With A Touch Of Clean & Simple

    August 12, 2024 / 3 Comments

Hello there Spellbinders friends! It’s Lisa Tilson here with you today on the Spellbinders blog. I’m excited to be here to show you some ideas using the oh-so-pretty Yana’s Poppies Collection. This collection is small but nonetheless gorgeous for it. It contains a background press plate, a layering stencil set, and a set of etched dies. The stencil layering set works in conjunction with the press plate and is a quick and simple way of adding beautiful color to your projects. Thanks For my first card, I am using the Poppy Background Press Plate and the Layered Poppy Background Stencils. Instead of pressing my plate, I thought I would foil…

Watercoloring Die Cuts & Stamped Images with Karin Markers – Step-by-Step Tutorial

    November 13, 2023 / 1 Comment

Hi everyone! It’s Jean Doeringsfeld and I’m super excited to be a guest on the Spellbinders Blog. Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite techniques for using Karin markers. This is a super easy watercolor technique that will help you learn about how the markers work and create stunning results every time. I have 3 cards to share with you today – the first two use the Karin markers to watercolor die cuts and the 3rd shows how to apply the same method to a BetterPress image (or any image, really). Step 1 (for All Cards):  Start by swatching the markers to determine which colors you want for your project…

Glimmer for the Holidays – Pine Sprays 4 Ways

    August 23, 2023 / No Comments

Hello crafty friends! It’s Rachel Alvarado from RachelAlvaradoDesigns.com. I have a variety of hot-foiled projects to share with you today using the Pine Sprays Hot Foil Plate from the new Glimmer for the Holidays Collection. My goal today is to show you how easy it is to combine this gorgeous hot foil plate with other Christmas-themed sets that you may already own, as well as how to easily use it on its own.   Pine Sprays and Poinsettias My first project features the intricate pine sprays background combined with the previously released Wonderful Christmas Clear Stamp Set.  My goal with this card was to add a pop of color to…

Reverse Foiling with Essential Glimmer Solid Shapes and Jung AhSang

    April 16, 2022 / 3 Comments

Hello crafty friends! It’s Jung AhSang here, and I am so excited to be returning for another guest post on the Spellbinders blog.  If you’d like to follow my crafty projects, my blog is jungahsang.wordpress.com, and my Instagram is @junglebarrya. Today, I’m working with the Essential Glimmer Solid Shapes. I absolutely love the Glimmer Hot Foil system, and I always wanted to utilize the leftover foil from my projects. These glimmer solid shapes allow you to take advantage of that leftover foil.  There are 4 shapes: rectangle, square, oval, and circle. Reverse Diagonal Glimmer Stripes For my first card, I used the Essential Glimmer Solid Rectangle. I also used the…

Reverse Foiling Ideas with Michelle Short and Essential Glimmer Solid Shapes Collection

    April 13, 2022 / 1 Comment

Hello there, Michelle Short here with some inspiration using the new Essential Glimmer Solid Shapes Collection. This is such a fun collection as you get to use up all of your scraps after foiling. There are so many different designs that work with reverse foiling. I love that these are shapes, but you can also cut your own shapes too! I have used the circle, rectangle (in a slightly different way!), and square today but there is also an oval. I found that I got great results by heating up the Glimmer Hot Foil System platform twice and also using the hinge method for foiling – by taping down the…

Utilizing Leftover Foil with Essential Glimmer Solid Shapes & Annie Williams

    April 11, 2022 / 1 Comment

Hello again this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new Essential Glimmer Solid Shapes Collection from Spellbinders. The bold designs in this collection can be used with so many interesting techniques and I was inspired to create three springtime cards for a variety of occasions. Leftover Leaf Design One of my favorite ways to use these designs is also the simplest. By taking the leftover foil from a background design, I can create an equally beautiful “negative” of that background for another card. Here I added a few spring blooms to a golden leaf background…
