Happy Haunting
Hello! Jen Kotas is here today with three cards featuring the Happy Haunting Collection. I love making cute spooky cards and they don’t have to be just for Halloween. To create the dots with wax beads simply drop a small amount onto the silicone mat. It’s a great way to use up any extra melted wax on the spoon! Blend purple ink on a piece of Porcelain BetterPress A2 Card then impress with Spider Web Background Press Plate with the same ink. Adhere to an A2 card base. Die cut the image from Woof-or-Treat Etched Dies and assemble with liquid glue. Adhere to the card with foam tape. Create sentiment…

A Christmas Dance
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog today sharing three projects using the Dancin’ Christmas Friends Collection. This fabulous collection features characters that are made so that their legs move, or dance, which is super fun! A GIFT FOR YOU For my first card, I am using the Dancin’ Gnome Etched Dies. This die creates a gnome that is almost 6” tall, so I opted for a mini slimline card, to get the full effect of his dancing legs! To make this card: Die cut Dancin’ Gnome Etched Dies from Snowdrift, Bearly Peach, Teal Topaz, Waterfall, Poppy Field, and Silver Assortment…

Spooky Cute Cards Featuring the Happy Haunting Collection
Hello, crafty friends! This is Emily Leiphart and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog, featuring the Happy Haunting Collection. I love creating Halloween cards and, much like my cards for past collections like Boo Dance Party, I wanted to spark inspiration with a fun, non-traditional color palette. The Happy Haunting Collection includes so many fabulous products and I chose to feature Fiona the Dancin’ Witch, Woof-or-Treat and Witchin’ Heels. I may be sharing only three cards here but you’ll definitely see more from this collection. The color palette I’m using includes Pink Sand, Spiced Cider, Nectar, Pale Rose, Meadow, Peacock, Slate Gray, and Onyx cardstock. Also featured…

Interactive Christmas Cards
Hello! Jen Kotas is here today with three cards featuring the Dancin’ Christmas Friends Collection. Interactive cards are so fun to make and dancing characters make it so easy! One of my cards features embossing with a press plate. To do this, follow the instructions for embossing an etched die found on the Platform Base of the Universal Plate System. Die cut the Dancin’ Moose Klondike, Dancin’ Gnome Alfie, and Dancin’ Douglas Etched Dies from various colors of cardstock and specialty papers. Assemble the die cuts using liquid glue but don’t adhere the legs to the body. Dry emboss a background for each character. I used Holiday Lights 3D Embossing…

Can Poppies Be Blue?
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog today sharing three projects using Yana’s Poppies Collection. This beautiful collection features a poppy die, as well as a poppy background press plate (with or without a coordinating stencil). Poppies are generally red in color, maybe yellow or orange, but blue is quite rare. I did, however, base mine off the Himalayan blue poppy, which I think is absolutely beautiful! HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES For my first card, I am using the Poppy Background Press Plate. This is such a stunning background! You can color the poppies with lots of different coloring mediums or use…

Creating Personalized Note cards
Hello crafters! This is Flávia Cavaliéri and I’m so happy to be on Spellbinders blog sharing some fun scrapbooking-style note cards! I have recently been on a trip to Europe for the first time, and instead of sending postal cards to close family members, as I usually do, I decided this time to make personalized note cards using pictures of my favorite moments! And, of course, I will mail these note cards along with some fun souvenirs! I was highly inspired by many creative scrapbookers that I have been following on social media to create these note cards. All of today’s note cards have a lot of texture and many…

Three Fun Background Techniques for Creating Easy & Colorful Cards
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share a couple of simple and pretty cards made with the Beautiful Backgrounds Collection from Stampendous. There are so many fun techniques you can do with background stamps and I used three of my favorites to create these colorful cards for a variety of occasions. Rainbow Confetti Congrats Card The Stampendous Streamers Stamp was just begging to inked up in rainbow colors, so I created a colorful background with just three ink pads for this simple and bright congrats card. Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4” x 5.25”. Using a stamp…

Ideas for Using Pre-Printed Paper in Cardmaking
Hello crafters! Karen Brown here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders Blog with some ideas for streamlining your creative cardmaking process. Lately, I have been incorporating a lot of pre-printed elements into my cardmaking and I love how this allows me to focus on the joy of designing. I have two other recent posts that feature printed paper that you can read HERE and HERE. Layering with Beautiful Papers My first card features a simple die-cut element, Skateboarding Terry, and I used Maya’s Garden printed paper for my color inspiration. My background uses two patterns plus I used a third paper for the skateboard. For Terry, I…

Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog today sharing three cards using the Home for the Holidays Collection. This collection features lots of dies and press plates and I am using a few on my cards today. All my cards feature the color blue today. I did not plan for that when I was making them, but I do like blue for the holidays, especially when combined with white and red! NICK For my first card, I have combined St. Nick Etched Dies with the Sprinkled Confetti Press Plate to make a mini slimline card. To make this card: Die cut…

Mini Slimnline Trio Featuring Copperplate Holiday Sentiments
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog today sharing three cards using the Copperplate Holiday Sentiments Collection by Paul Antonio. These beautiful script sentiments can be used in lots of different ways, and I love that they are large, so take center stage on the cards! These are Press Plates but can be foiled too, as you will see from my cards. I decided to make mini slimline cards today (3.5” x 6”) as I felt the sentiments fitted well with that design, but they work perfectly for all shapes and sizes of cards too! MERRY CHRISTMAS For my first card,…
