Gilded Blooms: Crafting Floral Cards with Elegance
Hi there my Spellbinders’ friends! My name is Jaycee Gaspar and I’m so excited to share three cards featuring Yana’s Poppies by Yana Smakula. This collection features gorgeous poppy images in Yana’s signature die-cut outline style. Ever since I saw Yana’s Anemone Blooms, I have been hooked by the distinguished look. Speaking of distinguished looks, the set of BetterPress Plates, coordinating etched dies, stencils, and sentiments make for easy elegant cards. I decided to go bold with gold accents to complement these poppy designs. Up first, I used both the Yana’s Poppy die set and Poppy Background BetterPress Press Plate for this black and gold statement card. I used the…

Can Poppies Be Blue?
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog today sharing three projects using Yana’s Poppies Collection. This beautiful collection features a poppy die, as well as a poppy background press plate (with or without a coordinating stencil). Poppies are generally red in color, maybe yellow or orange, but blue is quite rare. I did, however, base mine off the Himalayan blue poppy, which I think is absolutely beautiful! HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES For my first card, I am using the Poppy Background Press Plate. This is such a stunning background! You can color the poppies with lots of different coloring mediums or use…

The Simple Stories Just Beachy collection is available in the Spellbinders shop. While you’re adding that to your cart, be sure to grab some metal dies and embossing folders that complement the collection, there are so many to choose from! For this layout, I opted to focus on the orange, pink and yellows in the collection as they really popped the photos that I had of a beach sunset over Lake Superior. There are…

Hello, crafty friends!! Brenda Noelke here from My PaperCut Creations! I’m thrilled to be a guest on the Spellbinders blog today! I’m sharing two cards featuring the Flower Market Stencil Collection!! As much as I LOVE coloring, there is just something about ink-blending with stencils that is so relaxing and soothing, isn’t there? HELLO CONEFLOWERS For my first card, I stenciled the first four layers of the Coneflower Layered Stencil Set onto white cardstock using dye inks and blending brushes. For the fifth layer, I masked off the dots in the centers of the flowers and inked the lines in the petals with dye ink. Then I masked off the…

Painter’s Garden Inspiration with Jennifer Kotas
Hello! I’m Jen Kotas from Who Stole My Glitter and I’m happy to be here today to share three cards featuring the Painter’s Garden Collection from Susan Tierney Cockburn. There are five new flower Dies in this collection along with a 3D Embossing Folder. Susan typically colors her flowers with Copic Markers and uses a special cardstock from Spellbinders. I prefer to cut my flower pieces from heavy-weight colored cardstock from Spellbinders. I added detail to the flowers with ink. It’s a time saver but I also love how the cardstock softens as I shape it but doesn’t tear. For detailed instructions on creating the flowers, please visit the Spellbinders…
