Alcohol Marker Colored Images using Simon Hurley Stamps and Dies
Hello! Jen Kotas here today with three cards featuring Simon Hurley Stamps and Coordinating Dies. There’s so much to love about these products. The woodland animals are precious and there’s so many images in that set. The wreaths are gorgeous and the little artist critters are adorable. I’m most comfortable using alcohol markers but there are so many other mediums you could use. Tag me with the one you choose to color these images with. The highlight of this collection is a die that creates an embroidery hoop, screw, and “fabric.” Nichol Spohr combined her love of cardmaking and needlework in this collection and I think you are going to love it. For me, cardmaking is all about color! There is a design “rule” that uses color to help achieve a cohesive or balanced design. This collection includes dies to make cards throughout the year. You could even use them without the needlework dies. Though I didn’t do it, I would recommend stamping the sentiment before die-cutting. It will produce more solid lines.i put tiny pieces of foam tape behind the gold screw fitting. Trio of Cards, Featuring the Nichol’s Needlework Collection
Hello crafty friends! It’s Jung here, and I am back with another guest post on the Spellbinders blog. For my projects today, I’m working with the Nichol’s Needlework collection. As a needlework lover, I jumped at the chance to work with this collection. First, I started out by die-cutting the hoop elements for all three cards. I die-cut the perforated circles, the hoop frames, and the gold screw pieces. I wanted the hoop frames to be slightly raised, so I cut extra and glued 2 together for each card.
