Simple Poppy Card Tutorial with Leaf & Bloom Etched Dies
Hello there, Michelle Short here to share a step-by-step tutorial with you using the new Leaf & Bloom Etched Dies from the Poppy Song Collection. This is a really pretty set consisting of three stems, three poppy flower heads, and a leaf frond. I kept my card very simple today to focus on the dramatic colour palette! DIE-CUTTING THE POPPIES Die cut the Leaf & Bloom Etched Dies: Please note: the dies are shown in the photo facing upwards, so that you can see which die is cut from which cardstock. When die cutting, you need to have the cut side facing down onto the cardstock. Place two of the…

Today I am hot foiling and colouring with alcohol markers. Hello crafters! It’s Lisa Tilson here with you again on the Spellbinders blog. I’m thrilled to be here to share some ways to use Yana’s Daisies Collection with you. This is a lovely collection by Yana Smakula that includes a couple of press plates with coordinating stencils, a set of etched dies, a 3D embossing folder and a set of BetterPress sentiments. I often talk about double the fun with press plates as they can be foiled as well as pressed and they give stunning results whatever technique you choose. There is also another way to use them and I cover that later in this post! There are so many…

Two Color Mini Wax Seals
Hello! Jen Kotas is here today with three cards featuring the Mini Wax Seals. There are four 3D wax seals in the collection. I’ve paired these cards up with the beautiful new Gorgeous You Collection to make two-color wax seals. To create the two-color wax seal, create the wax seal with the color you wish to use for the image. Next, cut the image with small sharp scissors. Press the image back into the wax seal stamp with some pressure. Melt and pour the wax for the background and press the stamp like normal. Emboss an A2 panel of white cardstock with the Cross My Heart 3D Embossing Folder. Blend…

Making Extras with the Beads of Friendship Collection
Hello! Jen Kotas is here today with three cards featuring the Beads of Friendship Collection. This collection has tiny press plate or stamped letters to create lots of friendship bracelets to use with or without the die-cut hands. There are also die-cut shapes and bracelets. For these cards I created multiples of everything except the hands and stamped sentiments and letters. I have a lot leftover that I can pull out for future use with other components of this collection or I could even pair them up with the new Shine Bright Collection. I began by impressing the Bestie Alphabet Beads Press Plate and Die Set letters in a rainbow…

Pink & Black for Christmas?
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog using the Amaryllis Christmas Collection by Yana Smakula. This beautiful collection features amaryllis, poinsettias and sentiments – all perfect for the holidays. CHRISTMAS CHEER For my first card, I wanted to use Yana’s Amaryllis Etched Dies. This set is great as you have the flower and stem as one die and then separate dies for the leaves and shadow pieces. I like that you can customise it as you wish! To make this card: Cut Yana’s Amaryllis main die once from white cardstock, making sure not to put too much pressure on it, so…

Christmas Cardmaking using Contemporary Colours
Hello there crafters! Lisa Tilson here with you today on the Spellbinders blog. I’m excited to be here to show you some ideas using the Home For The Holidays Collection. For my three cards today, I thought it would be fun to use modern, contemporary colors for a super pretty Christmas vibe. I love traditional colors at Christmas, but it’s always good to shake it up a little and I usually end up with a fairly even mix of styles. The Home For The Holidays Collection is a big one and it is packed with super fun dies, gorgeous press plates, beautiful sentiments, and an embossing folder that actually could…
