Vibrant Rainbow Palette Using Simon Hurley’s Leaf Prints
Hello crafters! Joan Bardee here and I’m happy to be back on the Spellbinders blog sharing 3 bright, colorful cards using Simon Hurley’s Leaf Prints stamps and dies. Leaf Prints is a set of beautiful solid (no coloring!!) red rubber stamps of leaves and there is a coordinating set of dies available. Leaf Prints is perfect for fall cards, and normally I would go with a typical autumn color palette, but I used a vibrant rainbow palette instead and I love how they came out. Although, when you get to the 3rd card, you’ll see I’m second-guessing myself. Let me know what you think. RAINBOW BOUQUET This card packs a…

Cardmaking With Silly Santas
Hello! I’m Jen Kotas from Who Stole My Glitter and I’m happy to be here today to share two cards featuring the new Simon Hurley Silly Santas Stamp Set. I could not resist using as many of these adorable Santas as possible on each card. To add more shading to the stamped images, I used one lighter ink and one darker one per image. First, stamp the entire image with lighter ink. Then, tap some of the darker ink on only to the bottom and back third or less of the image. Use a small blending brush to soften the harsh line left by the ink pad and stamp the…

Easy Pattern Cards
Hello! I’m Jen Kotas from Who Stole My Glitter and I’m happy to be here today to share three cards featuring the newest Simon Hurley release. I enjoy filling a card panel with stamped images and today I’m taking things up a notch by die-cutting the images and adhering them to an embossed panel. The texture under the images is such an unexpected and subtle surprise. For the first two cards a stamp positioning tool is necessary. The slimline cards I’m using measure 3 1/2” x 8 1/2” when folded. Emboss a piece of 3 1/4 x 8 1/2” white cardstock with the Mandala 3D Embossing Folder. Splatter with bronze…

Today, I’ve got some brand-new goodies from the Simon Hurley collection to show you. Each card has its own unique style, and I can’t wait to share them with you. Let’s kick things off with the first card. I started by using an A2-sized Glacier cardstock for the base, and to add some texture, I ran it through a machine using the Floating Balloons 3D Embossing Folder. It gave the card panel such a cool texture! I then stamped, colored, and cut the images from the Hot Diggity Dog…

Metamorphosis Collection Cardmaking Ideas
Hello crafty friends! It’s Jung here, and I am back with another guest post on the Spellbinders blog. Today, I made 3 cards using the new Metamorphosis collection by Simon Hurley. Butterfly Hugs Card For my first card, I used butterflies, stained glass window, and sentiment dies. I started out my card with the stained glass window. I used Distress inks to ink blend a panel of white cardstock. Next, I taped the outer die to the detailed die to keep the spacing the same. I die-cut my ink blended panel with the stained glass window die, and I diecut 3 more panels from white cardstock to layer behind for…
