Cardmaking With Silly Santas
Hello! I’m Jen Kotas from Who Stole My Glitter and I’m happy to be here today to share two cards featuring the new Simon Hurley Silly Santas Stamp Set. I could not resist using as many of these adorable Santas as possible on each card. To add more shading to the stamped images, I used one lighter ink and one darker one per image. First, stamp the entire image with lighter ink. Then, tap some of the darker ink on only to the bottom and back third or less of the image. Use a small blending brush to soften the harsh line left by the ink pad and stamp the…

Easy Pattern Cards
Hello! I’m Jen Kotas from Who Stole My Glitter and I’m happy to be here today to share three cards featuring the newest Simon Hurley release. I enjoy filling a card panel with stamped images and today I’m taking things up a notch by die-cutting the images and adhering them to an embossed panel. The texture under the images is such an unexpected and subtle surprise. For the first two cards a stamp positioning tool is necessary. The slimline cards I’m using measure 3 1/2” x 8 1/2” when folded. Emboss a piece of 3 1/4 x 8 1/2” white cardstock with the Mandala 3D Embossing Folder. Splatter with bronze…

Card Assortment Featuring the New Simon Hurley Collection with Leica Palma
Hey crafty friends! It’s Leica here, and I’m thrilled to be sharing three fantastic cards with you on the Spellbinders Blog. Today, I’ve got some brand-new goodies from the Simon Hurley collection to show you. Each card has its own unique style, and I can’t wait to share them with you. Let’s kick things off with the first card. I started by using an A2-sized Glacier cardstock for the base, and to add some texture, I ran it through a machine using the Floating Balloons 3D Embossing Folder. It gave the card panel such a cool texture! I then stamped, colored, and cut the images from the Hot Diggity Dog…

Metamorphosis Collection Cards & Tag Ideas
Hello there, Michelle Short here to share some inspiration using the Metamorphosis Collection by Simon Hurley. This is a wonderful collection that is perfect for cards, tags, scrapbook/art journals and so much more! I have two cards to share with you today, as well as a tag. HELLO I am using the In Bloom set for my first card, which is such a pretty layering floral die set. I die-cut the flower petals from Glacier, Raindrop, and Cosmic Sky Cardstock. I then cut the centers from Chamomile and the leaves and stem from Peridot Cardstock. All of the layers were ink blended on the edges using Distress Inks and then…

Metamorphosis Collection Cardmaking Ideas
Hello crafty friends! It’s Jung here, and I am back with another guest post on the Spellbinders blog. Today, I made 3 cards using the new Metamorphosis collection by Simon Hurley. Butterfly Hugs Card For my first card, I used butterflies, stained glass window, and sentiment dies. I started out my card with the stained glass window. I used Distress inks to ink blend a panel of white cardstock. Next, I taped the outer die to the detailed die to keep the spacing the same. I die-cut my ink blended panel with the stained glass window die, and I diecut 3 more panels from white cardstock to layer behind for…

Metamorphosis: Rainbow Colored Fun
Hello and welcome! I’m Joan Bardee and today I’m featuring 3 cards using the gorgeous Metamorphosis Collection designed by Simon Hurley. (How does Simon create so many amazing products, videos, and samples??) This collection consists of 4 sets of dies: In Bloom, Stained Glass Window, Everyday Sentiments, and Brilliant Butterflies. I was particularly smitten with the arch shape in Stained Glass Window and the collection put me in the mood for rainbow colors, so get ready for rainbows. The Stained Glass Window base die is perfect to make an arched-shaped card, so I did. Die cut a fantasy rainbow-colored bouquet (with gold accents) using the In Bloom dies. Love how…

Simon Hurley’s Succulents with Jennifer Rustioni
Hi everyone! This is Jennifer Rustioni from @armieritagli! I’m very excited to be back as a guest on the Spellbinders Blog! Today I share with you the projects I created featuring the new amazing Succulents Stamp Set by Simon Hurley and Spellbinders Coordinating Dies! I must confess that I have a black thumb, and I can’t even get succulents to survive, so I definitely prefer to stamp them rather than grow them! Lol! GOOD VIBES For my first card I chose to stay in my coloring comfort zone. I stamped the succulent plant with the Archival Ink Pad Jet Black on watercolor paper. I colored it with Daniel Smith Extra…

Butterfly Kisses: 3 Ways – Complicated to Simple by Joan Bardee
Hello and welcome! I’m Joan Bardee and today I’m featuring 3 cards using the Butterfly Kisses stamp and die set designed by the amazing Simon Hurley. I’ve got something for everyone here; the first card has lots of layers and colors; the second repeats 2 images; and the third is clean and simple. Used a lot of purple on these cards, which is a color that I rarely use – but butterflies just seem to work with it! Floral Frame Card Used Yana Smakula’s “perfect cardmaking formula” to design this card. This was a stretch for me as I usually make much simpler cards. Yana’s formula is to place a…

Birthday Basics 3 Ways with Jung AhSang
Hello crafty friends! It’s Jung here, and I am back with another guest post on the Spellbinders blog. For my projects today, I’m working with just one stamp set: the Birthday Basics stamp set from Simon Hurley, along with the coordinating dies. Birthday Cake Card For my first card, I used the birthday cake from the stamp set. I started out by stamping the image twice with black ink on white cardstock. I colored the first image with Copic markers, then used the coordinating die to cut it out. On the cake, I stamped the “Hope your day is as amazing as you are!” sentiment with Versamark ink, and heat…
