Folk Art Inspiration | Nordic Blooms Card with Keeway
Hello again! This is Keeway Tsao and I’m thrilled to be be here today for another guest post with Spellbinders featuring the Folk Art Collection by Lene Lok.
It has been such a joy working with this collection. In my first post, I started with just a plain white die cut and focused on creating a complimentary blended background. In my second post, I was inspired by the bright colors folk art to color my die cuts to create a bright, contrasting card. This time, I have decided to die cut my images out of colored cardstock, and add details and depth to these cuts with a little ink blending.
I used the Nordic Blooms Dies to die cut multiple leaves and flowers out of colored cardstock. To bring further depth to the images, I added ink blending to the edges of the die cuts with a mini dauber.
For the background, I blended Broken China distress oxide ink from the bottom up, and also masked off the middle with post-it tape to create another edge where I blended bottom up. I used the same ink to add a touch of ink splatter.
I assembled and adhered all 6 flowers to the card in alternating colors. Then, I used white acrylic paint to splatter white dots across the entire card.
And finally, for the final step, I stamped my large sentiment ‘Thank You’ right in between to two rows of flowers in dark brown ink.
All done! Hope this brings a little cardmaking inspiration to your day!
