Creating Unique Backgrounds For Cards With Modeling Paste
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of cards using white modeling paste as a fun background element. White modeling paste can be used as-is, with stencils, or mixed with a variety of other mediums for endless possibilities in your paper crafting projects. Modeling Paste & Stencils There are lots of ways to alter modeling paste to suit your project, but with a thick and creamy consistency, it also looks great applied through stencils right from the jar. Here I created a pretty textured background for this soft spring flowers card. Apply white modeling paste through the…

Graphic Stylized Design with The Fresh Picked Collection
Hello crafters! Joan Bardee here to share some fun colorful cards made with the Fresh Picked Collection. Recently I’ve seen a lot of graphic stylized designs – large florals, fruits, or other images – manipulated so that they fit into a rectangle or other shape like a puzzle. Some describe this design as mid-century modern. You can see examples by checking out my Pinterest page here. In addition, the November Large Die of the Month Towering Blooms is also in that style. The Fresh Picked Collection has that bold aesthetic and I absolutely love it. The collection consists of 4 die sets – Buttercups, Daffodils, Berries, and Anemones. There is…

Trio of One-Layer Wonder House-Mouse Cards
Hello crafty friends. This is Amanda from Twiddler’s Nook today. I have a trio of cards I created with the Spellbinders House-Mouse Everyday collection. More of those sweet images that we all love, touching on the everyday celebrations and moments that we most enjoy making cards for. Today I’m sharing one-layer cards that showcase and make those beautiful images pop. I started by trimming Bristol Smooth Cardstock panels to A2 size. Then I stamped all of my images with VersaFine onyx black ink because I wanted to watercolor them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. This paper/marker combo is perfect for a relaxed and forgiving watercolor experience. After…
