Kyoto’s Sakura Season
Hey Crafty Friends, it’s Amy Tsuruta, and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog featuring the gorgeous Spring in Kyoto Collection by Alex Syberia Designs. I am so excited for this collection. My favorite international vacation place is Japan. The food, the culture, and overall natural beauty is amazing. Spring in Japan is beautiful, especially if you can catch the cherry blossoms [sakura in Japanese]. My first card is almost an all white card, which is definitely a challenge to photograph. The Floral Fans 3D Embossing Folder is absolutely gorgeous. I used it with a BetterPress Porcelain card panel. The Cherry Blossoms BetterPress Plate & Die Set were…

Limited Supplies/Unlimited Fun with Cherry Blossoms BetterPress Plates
Hello crafters! Joan Bardee here sharing a step-by-step tutorial to make a pretty card using a limited number of products. The card uses the Cherry Blossoms BetterPress plates from the Spring in Kyoto Alex Syberia Designs Collection. This gorgeous collection includes a variety of unique products that take you to the land of cherry blossoms and other Japanese-inspired images. I often get overwhelmed when I walk into my craft room. New and old products beckon, and there is so much inspiration online that I get caught up in all the choices. Sometimes, intentionally using just a few supplies helps me focus. For this card, my plan was to use: 1.…

Mixing Patterned Paper with Fun Dies from the Classic Road Legends Collection
Hi there, this is Annie Williams, and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of fun cards made with the new Classic Road Legends Collection by Mindy Eggen. The intricate die sets from this collection create such realistic vehicles, and I was inspired to mix them with some of my favorite masculine patterned papers to create three cards for the men in my life. CLASSIC BLUE PICKUP CARD My nine-year-old son points out every classic pickup truck on the road (we live in the country, so there are a lot of them!) and his favorites are the blue ones. When I saw the Timeless…

In Reel Color
Hello Crafty Friends, it’s Amy Tsuruta and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog featuring the amazing Take Note Collection. I wanted to incorporate a rainbow palette with my projects but also keep it to a handful of colors. For my first project, I designed a mini composition book. I combined the Memo Splatter BetterPress Plate along with the Reel Color Sentiment BetterPress Plate & Die Set. This is when I tell you that I love working with BetterPress products! The Memo Splatter was inked in Azalea – BetterPress Ink, and the sentiment in Black – BetterPress ink. All the white paper I used is the BetterPress Porcelain…

Start by applying Verdigris Metallic Ink to the Memo Splatter BetterPress Plate and press it onto a piece of Seaside Cardstock using the BetterPress Letterpress System. Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share a couple of pretty and colorful cards made with the new Yana’s Daisies Collection by Yana Smakula. The gorgeous press plates, dies, and sentiments in the collection inspired me to create two pretty cards showcasing this beautiful bloom. THINKING OF YOU CARD Gerbera daisies, Shasta daisies, Cape daisies…doesn’t matter, I love them all! As my very favorite flower, I couldn’t wait to play with Yana’s new collection celebrating everything daisy. Delicate Duo: Capturing the Charm of Daisies
Hi there, my Spellbinders’ friends! My name is Jaycee Gaspar, and I’m so excited to share two cards featuring Yana’s Daisies by Yana Smakula. This collection features gorgeous daisy images in Yana’s signature die-cut outline style. I decided to pair the A2 and A7 BetterPress plates with complementary color layering stencils. For my designs, I chose to emphasize the versatility of these plates by using cohesive color palettes—just like the vast daisy family, Asteraceae. Up first, I used Yana’s Daisy Trio BetterPress Plate and its coordinating Layered Daisy Trio Stencil to make this card based on Rudbeckia. In my home state of Colorado, these black-eyed-susans thrive in the dry and…

Delightful Daisies
Hello crafters! It’s Lisa Tilson here with you again on the Spellbinders blog. I’m thrilled to be here to share some ways to use Yana’s Daisies Collection with you. This is a lovely collection by Yana Smakula that includes a couple of press plates with coordinating stencils, a set of etched dies, a 3D embossing folder and a set of BetterPress sentiments. I often talk about double the fun with press plates as they can be foiled as well as pressed and they give stunning results whatever technique you choose. There is also another way to use them and I cover that later in this post! There are so many…

Clean and Simple Cards Using the Field Notes Collection
Hello! Jen Kotas here today with three cards featuring the Field Notes Collection. This collection includes three die sets, two BetterPress sets, a stamp set and a 3D embossing folder. I kept my cards clean and simple today. The embossing folder adds a lovely texture and design to the background allowing the die cuts and images to shine. I did not have the stamp set to use so I pulled out the Holding Your Heart Sentiments BetterPress Plates and Die Set to use instead. When I first used this set I made lots of extras. Perfect for times like this! Emboss a 4 x 5 1/4” panel of Alabaster ColorWheel…
