Clean and Simple BetterPress Christmas Cards
Hi everyone! It’s Cassie Trask and I’m happy to be back sharing some new card ideas featuring the Simon Hurley – Glad Tidings BetterPress Plates! The elegance of the results from the BetterPress have me reaching for it time and time again, and the Glad Tidings BetterPress Plates definitely have me feeling some serious nostalgia. Santa’s Sleigh I was really wanting some simple Christmas cards with a lot of white space, so when I saw Santa’s Sleigh, I knew I needed to add a pop of color on the background to really make him pop! Using some Porcelain BetterPress Cotton Card Panels, ink up the Santa’s Sleigh BetterPress Plates with…

Adding Dimension to your Fall Projects
Hi Spellbinders fans. Alanna Moses from EmbellishCraftLove.com and I am very excited to be guesting on the Spellbinders blog today. Today, I am working with the Falling Leaves collection. This collection has a press plate with coordinating stencil, a 3D embossing folder, and three wax seals. All of these products are so beautiful and pair perfectly together. For my first card, I started by taking the Autumn Rain BetterPress and Stencil Bundle and used my BetterPress machine to ink up the press plate. I used the Opal Blush Shimmer Interference Ink Pad from Lisa Horton Crafts. I then used the coordinating stencils to color the umbrellas and leaves. I trimmed…

Dimensional Flowers with Clean and Simple Backgrounds
Winter’s Grace Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. In addition to her usual dimensional flowers, there’s also a beautiful 3D embossing folder that’s worthy of its own card. To learn how to assemble these flowers, watch Susan’s videos on Spellbinders YouTube channel. The background embossed with the Norwegian Rosemaling 3D Embossing Folder was cut to 4 x 5 1/4” and adhered to a second panel cut from the largest Perfect Touch Rectangles and Tag Etched Dies. These flowers are the Cymbidium Orchid and Ladybugs Etched Dies cut from Susan’s Garden Specialty Cardstock and colored with alcohol markers. I added a sentiment from All Seasons Spring Press Plate and Die Set. This…

Holiday Tags with Lisa Horton Essential Holiday Collection
Hello! Jen Kotas here today with three tags featuring the Lisa Horton Essential Holiday Collection. What an amazing collection where you can create many different tags for all of your holiday gifts. My color palette was simple but I love gray, red and white together for holiday tags. While I had my BetterPress System out, I created backgrounds in several colors that I may want to use at some point in the future. Always nice to have extras ready to go. Press the Holiday Background Panels Press Plates using Thunder BetterPress Ink on Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panel. You can fit two plates per A2 panel. Cut out with…

At first look, this collection may appear to be for scrapbooking enthusiasts but I’m here to show you how easily they can be used for card making. For those of you who use traveler’s notebooks for journalling and memory keeping will notice that this format is great for inserting into one of the traveler’s notebook pages. I decided to make not just three but four mini slimline cards to showcase one for each season to feature the Four Seasons dies. I had so many ideas in my head so…

Happy Haunting
Hello! Jen Kotas is here today with three cards featuring the Happy Haunting Collection. I love making cute spooky cards and they don’t have to be just for Halloween. To create the dots with wax beads simply drop a small amount onto the silicone mat. It’s a great way to use up any extra melted wax on the spoon! Blend purple ink on a piece of Porcelain BetterPress A2 Card then impress with Spider Web Background Press Plate with the same ink. Adhere to an A2 card base. Die cut the image from Woof-or-Treat Etched Dies and assemble with liquid glue. Adhere to the card with foam tape. Create sentiment…

Setting the Stage with Your Card Backgrounds
Hello, crafty friends! I’m Adrienne Boese, better known as Alice Scraps Wonderland online. The Birthday Bash collection from Simon Hurley has several fun embossing folders, so for this set of cards, I wanted to create three different backgrounds using the embossing folders. The goal with each of these embossed backgrounds is to set the stage for all of the other elements on the card. I’ll be taking you from the simplest to the most complex embossing folder uses, but along the way, I’ll be giving you my design tips to create balanced cards that impress! Die Cut Balloons Card The simplest form of creating a background with an embossing folder…
