Christmas Flea Market Finds Inspiration with Rosemary Dennis

Hello everyone! Rosemary Dennis here today on the Spellbinders blog. I am so excited to be sharing three projects using the brand new and oh so beautiful Christmas Flea Market Finds collection from Cathe Holden.

If you love vintage and you loved Cathe’s first collection with Spellbinders, you are going to really love this new collection! Let’s take a look at my projects.

Mini Décor Piece

When I first saw the collection I knew I wanted to create a Christmas décor piece. My mini décor piece started with a small rectangular box that I covered with collage medium, then adhered patterned paper from the Christmas Velvet 6×9 paper pad and let it dry.

Once dry I added several different mediums including crackle texture paste and Tea Dye distress ink to the piece to give it a more vintage feel. I used a die cut piece from the Christmas Pines Miscellany pack that I inked up with Tea Dye distress ink after I roughed up the edges.

Once that was done I glittered up the piece with Rock Candy distress glitter. I pulled out another die cut piece from the Jingle Bells Miscellany pack that I trimmed out the holly branch and bird from and glittered up.

I also used three little die cut jingle bells and added those to the holly branch. Once those pieces were dry I added those pieces to the front of my little décor piece. I finished up the piece by adding the little postcard and some Snowfall grit paste to the top of the piece and the little postcard.

Compliments of the Season

My next project is a card that I made using images from the Compliments of the Season and Handmade Holidays stamp sets along with a die cut from the Christmas Pines Miscellany pack.

I added Tea Dye ink to the die cut and then roughed up the edges a little bit. Patterned paper from the Christmas Velvet 6×9 pad was die cut with an Essentials Rectangle die, stamped with images from the Compliments of the Season and Handmade Holidays sets using dark green ink and adhered to a card base.

The die cut was then added to the front. The sentiment Compliments of the Season was embossed with cream embossing powder on vellum and die cut with a tag die from the die set.   That was also inked with Tea Dye distress ink, the red twine bow added and adhered to the front of the card.

Mini Square Basket

For my final project, I used the Vintage Handcrafted Square Base and Side Bowl die set to create a mini basket. I used collage medium to adhere paper from the Home for the Holidays 6×9 pad to some thin green cardstock.

Once everything was dry I die-cut the four sides from the piece. The bottom was die cut from the green cardstock.  I then used dark green DMC floss to do some simple lacing to bring everything together to form the square. To turn it into a basket I used a long die cut from the Jingle Bells Miscellany pack that says Merry Christmas as a handle.

I pulled additional pieces from the Jingle Bells and Christmas Pines Miscellany packs to adhere to the front of my basket.  I added glitter all the pieces, let them dry and then adhered them to my little basket.  I finished with a little bit of Snowfall grit paste.

I hope you enjoyed all my projects! Have a lovely day!
