A Special Delivery and Tea for Two Mice with Bobbi Lemanski

Hello friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski (Instagram: @BobbiHartDesign) here with a couple of cards to share featuring some sweet mice! Have you seen the latest House-Mouse Designs stamps available at Spellbinders Paper Arts? These darling stamps make even a mouse cute!

My cards feature the Bouquet For You  and the Tea for Two cling rubber stamp sets from the latest 2023 Spring collection. These stamp images are nice and big and fit beautifully on an A2 or A7 card. Both of my cards are 5” X 7” so I positioned the images to be the focal point. One is in the lower right corner, allowing the card to breathe with white space above. The other image is centered on the front. Both sets come with two sentiments each.

A Special Delivery Card

To create this card, I stamped the design on a separate 5” X 7” card front panel. I stamped the mouse body on another piece of cardstock and cut out just the main body. I attached the body, over the stamped design on the front panel, using foam tabs to make the mouse dimensional on the card. This is a great way to highlight a section of the design. In this case, it’s this adorable mouse. You can see the body protrudes beyond the hands, feet, and tail, giving the mouse a greater presence on the card to balance the oversized bouquet.

I colored the mouse using shades of brown with some gray undertones. I added white highlight marks over his fur to make him appear fluffier. The white highlights help draw attention to the mouse, giving its fur coat more dimension. The flowers were colored in shades of yellow and yellow-red to add depth to the petals. The stems were done in shades of green.

Here’s a complete list of the Copic Marker colors I used:

  • Mouse: E57, E44, E43, E42 for the fur and E00, E42, E43 and R00 for the face, hands, feet, tail and ears
  • Flowers: YR27, YR24, YR21, Y19, Y08, Y06 for the blossoms and YG67, YG23, YG17, YG03 for the stems
  • Ground: YG67

To complete the card, I stamped the sentiment right above the design and added some gem stickers in light bronze around the flowers. I love the whimsy these sparkly gems add to the scene. Finally, I attached the front panel to a white card base to conceal the color bleed on the back of the front panel.

Tea for Two Card

For the tea card, I centered and stamped the Tea for Two image and sentiment on the card’s front panel. I added some sky behind the design using Copic markers in blues. I also added Distress Oxide Ink around the edges of Mermaid Lagoon. I colored the stamped design using Copic Markers in the following colors:

Like the first card, I wanted to raise an element from the scene, so I chose the petite teacups this time. I stamped another set of cups, fussy cut them, and attached them over the original image using foam tabs. I added some teal gem stickers above cups to highlight the steam. I attached the card front to the card base to finish the card.
