Simon Hurley Purrfect Cats

Hello, crafty friends! Welcome back to the Spellbinder’s blog. Marie here from Marie Nicole Designs with a post featuring the Purrfect Cats stamp set by Simon Hurley!

There are SO. MANY cute kitties in this set. My kids were impatient for me to finish some cards so they could get their hands on the stamps, as well.

I made three cards with this set, so let’s take a look at each one!

ON AN ANGLE

I decided to go for some fun geometric designs on these cards, while also sticking with a certain color palette. I used pinks, some blue-greens, and light peach colors. Keeping all three cards in the same color family creates a coordinated look. This is a great way to create a set of cards.

I used some craft tape and masked off the angles of my card, and then did some simple ink blending. I blended the background with pink, and then the front layer with blue-green. I stamped the kitty over the ink-blended area using some black ink and then did some simple coloring.

To finish this card, I stamped the sentiment and then the little tangled ball of string. I love how it looks like the ball of yarn is rolling down the angle!

SIMPLY STRIPED

For my second card, I ink-blended some pink stripes on my background. I used the same color pink that I used for my first card. This time, I wanted a one-layer card, so I did not add a second layer.

Then, I stamped, colored, and cut out the cute kitties using the coordinating dies with the Purrfect Cats stamp set. I LOVE it when the stamps come with coordinating dies! I typically stamp out all the images, cut them with the dies, and then have a pile of images handy to color and add to my cards.

I picked two kitties that I thought were super cute and colored them with some alcohol markers. Again, my coloring is very simple.

I added some foam adhesive to the backside of the kitties and then adhered them to my card. For the kitty dropping in from the top, I adhered him upside down and then stamped a yarn ball hanging down. This kitty just makes me smile. So much personality!

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment to finish this card!

A SET OF CIRCLES

I absolutely love how this third card turned out. I ink-blended three circles using the same colors I used on my previous two cards. For the third circle, I used a light peach color- similar to the color I used on my kitties.

I then added the circles with foam adhesive. I took some of my kitty images that I already stamped and die-cut, colored them, and added them to my circles. I tried to pick kitties that fit inside the circles. That upside-down cat just cracks me up!

I added the sentiments and finished off the card! There you have it! A trio of cards featuring Simon Hurley’s Purrfect Cats stamps and dies. I hope you had a good look at these kitties and have come up with a few of your own ideas on how you can craft with them!

Until next time,
Marie Nicole
