Dimensional Doilies Inspiration | Easter Doilies with Jennifer Snyder
Hello crafty friends. I’m Jennifer Snyder, a papercrafter and creator of Scrap Escape Blog. I’d like to thank Spellbinders for providing this opportunity to showcase their newest addition to the Amazing Paper Grace family, the Dimensional Doily Collection by Becca Feeken. I’ve long been a fan of APG dies made famous for their delicate scroll-like designs. As a dimensional papercrafter, these dies are particularly fascinating because they add beautiful jaw dropping dimension to projects.
Today I’m featuring three cards crafted with the Dimensional Doily collection. I made the first card and couldn’t put the dies down. Stop after one card? No way, impossible. The interlinking designs are so incredibly easy and super fun to use.
The first card uses the Heart Melange Dimensional Doilies layered on top of a decorative rectangle cut using Hemstitch Rectangles from Becca Feeken’s Venise Lace collection. The Hemstitch Rectangle Die is one of my favorites to use as a base layer when I am making cards. The stitching adds effortless grace and detail. What a fabulous pairing.
I finished off the card with a sweet bunny ephemera center piece, some floral vines, bows (who doesn’t love gingham), pearls and a 3D pearly heart button.
Special tip for intricate dies: the Spellbinders Tool ‘n One is a handy and wonderful tool to have when working with intricate dies. If you aren’t familiar with the Tool ‘n One, the description says it’s “…a crafter’s dream”. So true. This tool has many functions but especially helpful for removing paper pieces from die cuts.
The next card features the Filigree Drop In Circlet Dimensional Doily. Isn’t the simple elegance of the die just beautiful? The die cut is layered on top of patterned paper and finished with the same embellishments as the first card; flowers, bow and 3D pearly heart button.
The final card showcases the Pointed Harmony Doily from the Dimensional Doilies by Becca Feeken. Such a different and unique look as compared to the other dies in the collection. Think about how fabulous this would be as a snowflake for Christmas time!
The center medallion in the card is from the Hemstitch Circles Die by Becca Feeken. Like the Hemstitch Rectangles used in my first card, this is also a wonderful “go-to” staple to have in your bag of tricks.
