Tis the Season for Holiday Card Making with Laurie Willison

Hello crafty friends! It’s Laurie Willison here with some awesome new holiday cards. The dies are all new, from the Celebrate The Season Collection at Spellbinders. I had so much fun playing with all the new Christmas goodies, so I whipped up 3 cards to share with you today.

Winter Welcome Sled Card

The new Winter Welcome Sled Etched Die set is an amazing group of dies to create so many looks. I love the basic sled and all you can add to it, to create clean and simple or super detailed. Today’s card was super simple to make. I used a red card base with a white layer of cardstock where I used the Nestabilites Hemstitch Rectangle to create the frame so the red cardstock could peak through. I built the sled with kraft and silver cardstock and then added in the holiday florals from the same die set.

Glitter Wishes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set is a new set of plates with LOTS of sentiments included. I wanted to make a bunch at once so I lined up the plates using a large piece of low tack tape and my work mat grid every ¼”. After taping them all down, I added the foil and taped the cardstock down on top. I hot foiled the entire piece at one which gave me a full sheet of sentiments. The best part was adding them to my trimmer and cutting them all at ¼”. Quick and easy sentiment strips!

Stylish Merry Christmas Card

Next, I used the Stylish Merry Christmas Etched Dies to create this large sentiment piece. I used red cardstock for the backing and then Shimmering Tropics Glitter Foam to create the intricate top. I adhered the large glittery sentiment to a white, scored card base. Using Holiday Blooms Etched Dies, I tucked in the greenery around the sentiment to finish off the card.

More Holiday Decorations Card

The last card uses 3 new Spellbinders products: Dazzling Dot Embossing Folder, More Holiday Decorations Etched Dies and Mix and Match Holiday Greetings Etched Dies. I wanted to create another white card where all the color would pop from the space. After adding the string lights in silver cardstock to the embossed card front, I added the lights in Red and Green Glitter Foam, along with more of the Shimmering Tropics Glitter Foam. I love how sparkly the lights look. To finish off the card, I added the die-cut sentiment Merry and Bright across the top.

Wow your use of the white backgrounds sure did the trick in making all the color pop. I love that glitter foam, especially for the lights. Definitely glitter foam is now on my wish list. All the cards are fresh and amazing. This release is spectacular and kudos to you for making such pretty layouts using them!
